The Dumbest Putt Ever Missed

i had a fantastic shot on a hole that is about 300 feet long, landed within 5 feet of the hole and missed... for a birdie... it hit the chains, landed in the basket, and got caught on the outer rim of the basket, hung there for like a second, and then dropped, i coulda made it if a took my time, but i still blame it on physics.. lol

My second shot landed under the basket. I walked up and just tossed it in, and turned away when I heard something hit the ground. I looked back to see my disc laying on the ground. I had thrown it so softly it just bounced off the chains and fell out of the basket. So a basically missed a 5 inch putt. I was pissed. It was also during a tournament. Talk about over confidence

During a tourney here in Mesa, AZ on a ball course I was thowing in front of a few specators. The hole was roughly 450' dog-leg to the right. I threw a beutiful long anhyzer shot that landed about 10' from the basket. The group gave me a nice applause for which I was greatful. After getting up to my shot, I proceeded to not only miss the putt, but miss the basket altogether. I felt really stupid after that.

I've missed a lot of short ones (spitting out), but the ones that really make me mad are the ones from about 10'-15' where I don't even hit any part of the basket, missing right or left.

Yeah, I was standing there about three feet from the basket, minding my own business. Picked up my putter and casually tossed it into the basket. No chains, just drop it in and call it done, right?

Well, no. The disc hit the rim, bounced a time or two, teetered for a bit more and then flopped out, mocking me all the way down.

Da-a-a-a-a-a-a-ang!!!!!!

i just was about to post that same thing, except on mine it was a flip to save bogey!

Earlier today, on the 18th hole, I missed a ~6' put for birdie. If I would have made it, it would have tied my best round ever.

I was playing with a friend, just a casual round, and my approach landed right under the basket - it was touching the pole. I bent over to pick it up and as I stood up I accidentally bumped the bottom of the basket and dropped the disc. The guy I was with made me count it as a stroke. Maybe the only 0' putt ever missed?

parking the ctp on league night only to putt through them chains and into the f in creek... dare you to not drop the f bomb on that one.... that's me, king of the 2 to 5....

These are the ones that kill me, I just stare in disbelief that I managed to not hit anything from that distance.

I was playing in worlds last week at Alum Creek. I get to hole 9 (i think), par 4, and I forehanded perfect off the tee. I flew the 70' from open through the 200' of narrow corridor of trees and out the other side 40' to park <10' from the basket. As I'm walking off the pad I notice CLASH is standing behind the basket filming all of this. After the rest of the card drove and got their upshots, it was my time to sink my eagle shot. As I set in, my legs were shaking. So I take a step back and set in again, same thing. With less than 15 seconds left in my shot time, I set in one last time still with some shakes. I zone in on my chainlink and release.... too high, hits the number plate  and rolls back about 20 feet. I sank the birdie, but I would've loved the eagle. Stupid miss.

been rattling a lot of putts out lately just been rushing the last toss of a hole ... its lame on my part too cause my drives and approaches for most part have been coming together hate leaving birds or pars on the ground like that

what's the actual pdga stance on this if he dropped the disc before the shot was attampted?

I think he's in some sort of violation just for not marking his lie before he picked up his disc.

I've been on with my Driving and upshot game lately, however it hasn't resulted in many extra birdies due to some really stupid missed short puts 10ft and in. You know the ones you can make in your sleep that you sometimes just lazily flick the disc towards the basket. Yeah those ones.

Playing in my first tournament at the last hole I am in second over third by one stroke.
Third place is my brother, also his first tournament, we both park our drives within 15 feet.
I putt first and slam into the top of the basket, uh o not good, my brother steps up to his putt
and he is now smiling thinking playoff, and he does the exact same thing as i did. We both couldn't
help but laugh.

Tournament was a lot of fun, won a bunch of plastic that day.

well if the disc is touching the pole, how can you properly mark it?

place your mini somewhere where it's touching the pole too?

i think i missed almost all my putts today.....very bad day

I missed 3 putts for birdies today and one was about 15 feet and hit the chairs on the right side and just fell next to the basket.

I think I have the best of the worst. A great example of overconfidence:

I had a first shot that landed just at the foot of the basket. I walked up, and just tossed it in, as I turned to talk to someone, just knowing there is no way to miss a one foot putt. As I had my backed turned, I heard a disc hit the ground. I just stood there, hopeing someone just dropped a disc, and turned around to see my putter laying on the ground.

According to witnesses, my putter didn't quite make the full basket, tittered on the edge, and fell out of the basket. This was in a tournament as well, so I was not a happy camper. I learned a lesson that day to never turn your back on your disc.
