[Putters] What you putt with and why

Zero Soft Pure 174g.

Feels nice in my hand and i can really trust it. Overall a great Putter.

I decided to go back to my soft proton Ion's just this morning.

I used the SS/SSS Voodoo's for a little over a year, then tried the classic judge and hated the firm plastic so I went back to my Voodoo's.

Then I ran into some consistency issues with the Gateway plastic, I just couldn't find 3 that felt the same (at one point I had 18 Voodoo's).

I then heard great things about the Pure in Opto plastic, but as soon as I got it in the mail I sold it because I didn't like the feel. I liked the idea of a premium plastic putter since I was having such a hard time with the base plastic from Gateway. So I looked at MVP and got an soft proton ION.

I loved the Ion's, I was pissing my buddies and competition off on a regular basis because I was draining 40-50 foot putts constantly…. until the snow fell, that proton plastic is slick as snot when wet.

Blend Judges hit the DD website at about the same time the snow fell. I figured that since my issue with the Judge was the firmness of the classic and the lack there of in the soft that this would be the answer… and it was… for about 3 weeks until they beat in a bit.

So I am back to the Ion's.

I use a Mercy for P&A duty. It just feels right in the hand. Mine is a Zero Hard plastic in a 174/175. I like the super stiff feel and you can really put the power on it for some shots that I would consider midrange as well. The only negative I have is this thing will roll! Be careful of the landing angles on this one!

Did you ever try a soft Mercy? Soft discs are supposed to stick to the ground better. I think I have to spend some money soon...

I love my RFF Wizard putter. I love the grip. The plastic feels great. I also love the ABC Money Putter. Also has a sweet rubber feel.

I bought a Zero medium pure to play with. Grippy with out being too floppy. Not sure if I will bag it or not. It might make it as a approach for me, the medium will stick to the ground quicker than the hard. The zero hard mercy has gotten better about the rollaways lately. Just had one today (out of 18 holes) that rolled about 5 feet down hill on an approach shot until luckily a tree stopped it for an easy putt.:D

My first putters were KC Pro Aviars which worked great for me until it got cold outside and the plastic became slick as all get out. I picked up a Yeti since it's also a BB Aviar and it was love at first putt. I've been using Yeti's for all my putts and approaches for close to three years now and i couldn't be happier. I love the concave flight plate and their stiff and grippy. Once i decided this was the putter for me i bought a bunch of them, i should have enough to last 4 or 5 lifetimes.

I putt with warlocks, but I struggle with driving them because they are so deep and I have small hands, but then they made the Warden and now I have my driving putter !

I've tried almost everything and settled on wizards. It glides to the basket with ease. Push or spush putts it's the best. I used the judge in the dynamic discs, 2 disc tournament and the judge fell out of the air way earlier. It was a struggle to dial it in. Thank goodness for my beat in glidey wizard

WIZARDS!!!! they putt and drive great.
#1 They feel good in my hand
#2 availability i live in the STL so gateway is right there.
#3 it goes in the basket ;)
#4 Why not wizards?

Have been using a max weight D-line Challenger inside the circle with very good results and a max weight DX Rhyno for longer putts and approaches. I have recently picked up another Max weight Soft Challenger but have not had a chance to throw it yet. The Challengers just feel right to me and I have a lot of confidence in them.

Any love for the Gateway Magic?

I tried many, and ended up getting a small stack of magics.
i like them because they are shallow, and how rounded the bottom lip is.

I have since tried others, and none will come out of my hand smoothly.
Once in a while i will toss my pure at the basket if i am really close.

i putt with Wardens. They are comfy in the hand and also has amazing glide. i have 1 hard and 2 soft. they are comfy. i did lose confidence in me and switched to a banger, which is not a bad disc but wardens are far better for me.
