Simon Lizotte Video "AMA" Ask Me Anything - CCDG

Is it just me or was it more impressive watching the outtakes of simon trying to hit the specific MPH on demand? To watch attempt after attempt for him to be within 1-2 mph at release - amazing consistency.

He's like a six foot tall version of every camper I ever had who's parents took them off ritalin for the summer. I think he's my new favorite golfer

I also liked the bit about having his bag stolen would be no biggie because he replaces his discs all the time. So many people on here talk about the broken in this or the broken in that as the Holy grail of disc golf, its reassuring to see someone competing at the very top level by picking a bunch of discs that fly the way he wants out of the box.

MPH over KPH? Maybe this is the info we need for the other thread.

Next time, get him a chair. Anything to make what is obviously awkward, more comfortable.

Other than that, good vid. The end was pretty amazing, and funny. Can't wait to see who you have on next.

Good video - although a lot of the answers aren't anything new, it's still good to see this sort of thing. Ending was quality too.

Negative. He can't even stand still, your expecting him to sit in a chair for 20 mins?

I think that the smaller baskets thing is trendy right because of how easy the courses are at the memorial. I doubt the pros would feel that way if they were playing courses that do a better job of punishing poor shots. There are plenty of tournaments at more challenging venues, I think that is the better direction to go in.

He's a very likable guy. Pure player for real. I'm surprised however, that a player of his quality doesn't recognize the importance of strategy in the game and how moving toward more par-4 based designs is the answer. Are we playing golf or lawn darts? Don't get me wrong, both games are fun but only one is golf.

I think he may legitimately have ADHD, or some varying degree of it.

How is moving to more par 4 designs really going to propel the game forward? Just curious on your opinion.

This is cool but there are too many "how do you throw far?" questions just with different wording.

Let's use some creativity, Reddit!

To be fair, some of the moving around could be down to the awkwardness and perhaps nervous energy of being filmed for 20 mins and just having question after question fired at you. I certainly wouldn't stand completely still if I were being interviewed in a similar fashion.

I think his awkwardness comes from English not being his native language. I'd imagine he's mostly focusing on not trying to sound weird. His English has gotten so much better since he first came to the states. A lot of the questions also focused on "how good" he was at throwing distance shots. I will take the awkwardness over him getting a big head about it.

Overall he's real down to earth and speaks real talk about disc golf. Give him a few years to mature and then come back to this discussion.

+1 Simon fan

I think Simon is a PRO in multiple respects. He is a talented golfer, he always seems to be available to do stuff like this Q and A video in this thread ( among all the others he has done in the last year ). He promotes the "Sport" first and his sponsors second, and himself last ( as being, he is humble about his skills and not hollering about how good he really is ).

So what if he is frigidity or something, I want to see you just sit like a statue for a stand up 30 minute video/interview. Scratch that, I dont care what a DGCR nerd would have to say for that time, can you say boring!

I dare anyone out there to travel to Germany and try to be a DG pro AND ambassador of/to the "sport". Do all the logistics of playing, promoting and speaking GERMAN of all things while you sit calm and collected doing interviews for the German fans, answering the same questions at every stop.

I am a DGCR nerd, a "Disc Golf Dork" and a "fan" ( dare I say it ) of Simon Lizotte .

Never thought a German (non-American) player would be my favorite, but he has quickly been winning me over with his personality and honesty. And I haven't even thrown a single Discmania disc yet!

I'm pretty sure he does, and it's not really surprising, a lot of top athletes do. A lesser known aspect of ADHD is the ability to "hyperfocus" when the activity at hand is right in someone's wheelhouse, which is perfect for the narrow focus on one sport required to train and become an elite athlete in any sport.
