Disc Golf World Tour

Ran some quick stats hole by hole - excluded the small number of folks who posted a +10 or higher, so a data set of the top 100 players.

Looks like holes 14 and 10 could be tweaked to be a bit harder, hole 11's tee could be moved up a bit, and holes 9 and 17 (as probably expected with island greens) have feast-or-famine distributions. The rest look like pretty good golf holes, statistically.

Ha, I was working on the same thing. Holes 9, 11, 17 by the numbers could be better, but the course overall has pretty good distribution.

Zack and Devan have really solid LHFHs. There are some other lefties much further down the list with no LHFH to compensate.

Just caught the SpinTV recap show of Round 1. Pretty slick. Observations:

1) PM?!?!?! 0 penalty strokes + 3 bomb outside circle putts + 94% inside circle putts = looks like it'll be 3 for 3 in 2016 so far for McBest.

2) Catrina. Respect.

3) I know it was Thursday but I saw 0 spectators. LaMi is gorgeous and historically significant, etc. but it's in the middle of an average, medium-density residential neighborhood in a cultural no-man's land between Los Angeles & Orange Counties, and it's an hour's drive from anywhere in Los Angeles. Until we locate good courses into city centers, you can forget about any significant numbers of randoms coming out to watch. I'm interested to see if media day involved any actual local media and if it results in any actual non-disc golf playing randoms coming out to watch.

4) Avery doing color. Hmmm. I guess I'm reserving judgment until after the live rounds.

5) With all the slick production and Metrix and logos and merch and professional hole length and micromanaging and control they still didn't catch that ace on 18? Getting that ace onto ESPN last night with the location and a mention that rounds 2 & 3 were Friday & Saturday would have done more for DGWT than any amount of fancy marketing or sales hype we've been getting from management since they started this whole thing last year. Bummer.

I thought she played very well, was awesome seeing some footage of her tearing it up. Looking forward to the lead card coverage today though, hoping it's all on point.

This SpinTV video was very well done and they should send it out to the local stations and newspapers, ESPN LA, ect. There could be some immediate interest in Catrina being the only woman in the field and who knows maybe they can get some exposure going into Saturday. She is really the key ingredient to interesting the general public.

Hell, send it to feminist media outlets.

When I tell people who live in LA that I'm going to La Mirada they have no idea that it exists. I don't mean the DG course I mean the city.

Zach has an excellent lefty forehand and has been balling for the last +12 months
