American Disc Golf Tour

Wysocki American disc golf tour segment on sports center without the Hooters girls? Weird....just weird.

....atleast the sport grew....

I have to give Billy Crump some credit. I know a lot of people don't like his style but he did a commendable job trying to make that spectacle seem remotely professional. There was so much dead air he had to deal with because of the disorganization and because his co-commentator was playing in the event (whose stupid idea was that?). But man was that cringe worthy.

I've been disc golfing for like 10 years and I kept seeing this event and going "What's wrong with this (ball) golf tournament? Oh yeah, they're throwing discs." That was abysmal filming, the Zapruder film was better at contextualizing what was going on. So many shots of the players driving where you couldn't see where the disc was going followed by a cut from outer space where you had to figure out where the disc was and where the hell the hole was supposed to be.

Listening to DC101 radio earlier today heard something about disc golf on ESPN ocho.

Here are some bits of info on how the ADGT broadcast (even though it seems like, thankfully, people didn't realize what a disaster it was from our perspective as folks who are invested in the game) went over on twitter and a quick mention about it from ESPN radio show:

P.S. I don't want this thread to die either, and would love to see 4000 posts.

Am I the only one that saw the sportcenter highlights of the American disc golf your one year later yesterday?

If I had no prior knowledge of disc golf, from the 3 events I watched on the Ocho, I'd rank their legitimacy (in descending order): Cornholin'
Arm Wrastlin'
Frolf

How many people have read the entirety of this thread? Its SO LONG, but SO GOOD. I'm a fairly recent member of DGCR and decided to dig through this thread in order to better understand the history of this forum where I waste much of my time. So far I've only made through the first 500+ posts. This thread should be required reading for all new members of DGCR.

I wanted to have it printed and bound in a hardback edition.

I'll confess to having read it all, bit-by-bit over a period of months, but I also must admit that I wrote a lot of it.

I think I've read it all.
Definitely Thread of the Year 2016, maybe one of the top threads of all time.
Glad to see it bumped again.

Oh man, now I'm going to have to read this all over again for pure enjoyment. I love how it all leads up to Falient completely doing what we knew they would do.

It's a great novel. It starts with a bang and a mystery, features prophets and foreshadowing in the first few chapters, lots of wonderful surprises along the way, some really witty sarcasm, a virtual play-by-play of the climactic scene, and an afterward that will leave you laughing.

A good story needs a good antagonist, one who's a little too smug, a little too sure of his own cleverness, one prone to make statements he'll have to eat in the end.
