What's your putting technique outside of the circle? Why do you use this technique?

I do a step/walk through putt. Long putts are one of the weakest parts of my game. The best long putters I see are jump putters...I'm considering making the switch.

Normal putting form up to around 45-50'. Then I just throw an approach style floater after that.

Outside the circle I just putt harder with more spin. Jumping and step putts are lame and often not done correctly. I would like to see the circle get bigger, 20+ meters.

I recently changed my approach to putting. I now putt from all distances backhand. There's a transition area between short putts and long putts where it feels weird to set up broadside for a backhand, so I'm working through that. I've not spent any dedicated practice time to it, yet, though it's working well.

Other (?). Same as my in-the-circle putt; I just use a more forceful push off my back foot. I rarely step through and never jump. Mostly effortless out to 75-100 if I get the weight shift and release timed correctly.

I'm with the OP, long putts are my weakest part of putting for me. They just feel awkward and I find myself between styles quite a bit.

Step putt at about 40ish feet. Really long putts I go to like a hybrid spin putt almost throw in thing. Its fun.

My normal putt, but its basically a falling putt. I put more power in it and just don't keep my balance like in the circle.

in the circle, I'm using a pitch putt from a straddle stance. That technique works for me to about 50' but I start using a Roc instead of a BB Aviar at around 35'. At 50' I''m turning my right shoulder to the basket and spin putting.

This works pretty well for me. I never was able to get the jump putt down. I've always been more comfortable doing a throwing motion. Just playing some catch with the bucket :D

Outside of about 50 feet I've started using a power grip with my spin putt but added a little "arm action". I've found that as I'm farther out switching to a thinner disc like a wedge or cobra I get easy control and putting distance.

Depends on distance, lie, terrain etc., but often a jump or step, but i also like a floaty-nose up-stall-run with a Polecat.

They aren't lame if they shave strokes off of your game. I never made putts outside of the circle with a jump putt (I couldn't figure out the timing), but I've canned 1 or 2 outside the circle during every tournament I've played since I started step putting. For me, it's also a great way to accurately approach from 100' and in. I can keep my eye on the target, and I have a lot more confidence hitting a tiny gap between trees with a long putt than I do with a touch backhand.

I'd agree that they are often done incorrectly. I know I have personally been guilty of this in the past, but I recorded myself and changed my technique to make sure that my timing is good enough that it is fairly obvious I'm not in violation of the rules.

Putting "harder with more spin" just throws my accuracy way off, and a step putt lets me keep exactly the same rhythm as a normal putt while adding a lot of power.

I putt like halcon said, under 50' I putt the same and at 50'+ I putt pretty similar just higher and out to the left and aim for the putt to fade in (lefty here).

My putting style is a bit awkward as it is and doesn't have enough power, so anything over 20 feet and my percentage drops significantly.

I've started to do a jump/step combo for anything in that 20-60 foot range. Since all of my shots come from a right foot forward stance anyhow, I basically go from a pitching like motion for short putts and gradually work towards a backhand throw as the shot gets longer. I tend to only jump when I think I have a chance and I have enough overhead clearance (since my putts generally follow a bell curve shape)

I do a step somewhere in the 50' range with my same style putt as in the circle. If I have enough height though, I may not even do that and just aim high and to the right for the fade.

I step and Jump equally depending on which foot I can get behind the disc. If I can only get the right foot behind the lie then I'm going to jump putt out of a staggered stance. If given the chance though I would rather straddle with my left foot behind the disc and step through with my right on the putt. Seems to be much more consistent and completely legal as my plant foot is always inline with the disc and touching the ground.
