Oh, and if you do wind up getting a Matrix later on, get a Neutron. From what people have been reporting on here, they are a bit beefier and more durable than the early Protons were.

Damn. I waz looking at the matrix too. I was trying to replace the Buzzz in a beefier way. So im hoping the vector is what the buzzz os was supposed to be

FWIW I was always anti bead yet loved the Vector. It's more "beefy glow Buzzz" though, not BOS. Eclipse with dayglow green core? Yes please.

First runs were domey and more BOS stability but I very quickly gave up on the idea of chasing them down.

Vector is a great disc, def get an Envy for approach shots and midrange. If you use slower fairway drivers the Resistor is as reliable and versatile as they get (forehand, thumbers, etc) and it slowly beats into a straighter flying utility disc that wont get flippy, lower glide and dump fade makes it easy to range and control. Resistor is my all time most-used and trusted disc just wish they didnt take so long to beat up. Wrath is another reliable disc with more distance potential, then Photon.

I have thrown nearly everything they make, i like their more over-stable molds as they beat in, anything flippy out of the box was useless to me.

I have a catalyst, octane, volt, vector, and ion coming. My first venture into mvp. Am i missing anything crucial in that lineup?

Im all in on mvp

idk why brutal wasnt brutally honest with you

all you need is highlighted in your quote

also stick to discraft mids the mvp mids are lousy

the vector is a poor replacement for a wasp and mvp doesnt make anything that compares with a buzz

and if you flick wasps dont expect to flick the vector

I personally only carry 2 mids. A proton matrix and a proton alias. Experimenting a bit with a circuit plasma axis too but not sure if I need it in the bag. Alias, matrix and my ion cover all my mid shots fine.

B.Brutus gave you good advice.. I'd second that, I like Envy's too haha... one thing I didn't see was a neutralish mid.. Axis is closer to a Buzzz but maybe a touch less stability, personally I dig the Tangent for a do everything straight mid but it's like a broken in Buzzz. The Vector is probably the disc you were looking for its solid straight to fade with good stability until you try and flick it or cheat it with too much anhyzer

I really like the Vector but I haven't thrown any current ones so grain of salt. I like MVP's mids a lot though. Sometimes you have to find the right plastic, dome, and weight combo to find exactly what you're looking for but no worse than other companies. Like a domey Vector was their only beefy OS mid they had until the Deflector but I'd be surprised if any Vector is less stable than a Wasp.

The Axis is my favorite mid, it's very Buzz/Qms like. The Eclipse is gonna be closest to a Z Buzzz. The Matrix is a scooch more overstable depending on run. The Tangent and Alias are boringly consistent if that makes sense. The Tangent is kind of a beaded Coyote type that is easy to go straight or track right whereas the Alias flies like a seasoned, stable putter. Those two excel at placement shots rather than distance. The Theory is a great understable mid, kind of like a slower, less speed sensitive Meteor.

If you FH, you're not missing much but the Vector and Ion aren't typical FH shaped discs. The Vector has a bead but I don't think it would bother my grip but I could see it bothering others. I do prefer the Envy for FH b/c the squared inner rim and flat feels better, plus the Ion can beat in a little too straight. Otherwise, I'd recommend a Relay or Axis/Theory if you're gonna do much woods golf just for some understable line shaping. The Ion can eat a lot of mid shots though, all of MVP/Axiom's putters do really. I haven't had my Catalyst and Octane long but they seem like good ones depending on your power. I know the Catalyst bombs and can be flipped over hyzer flip D. I think my Octane can handle wind but I haven't tested it yet but it seems decently HSS and LSS for straight to fade distance shots. A lot of MVP pros seem to bag it for consistent distance.

If you just want a dead straight fairway the Crave is great. If you want a seasoned S-PD/fresh P-PD type disc the Insanity is great too.

I absolutely 2nd the crave and Insanity. I have a plaz crave that is my go to fairway. Dead straight with a touch of fade at the end. The Insanity is my go to driver also. I don't have the biggest arm at all, but I can put my Insanity on a rope out to about 320'. Looooove that disc

however if youre not getting paid to throw a certain company why would you settle for anything less than a wasp?????

Short boring story: when i went all discraft wayyy back. I decided a good way to save money is to stick with one company. Instead of chasing the next best disc. Iam under the opinion its the archer not the arrow.

So i looked at my bag and the buzzz was my favorite disc and i built from there. When i needed a different shot i just filled it with the next logical discraft disc.

I will now do this with mvp. From the look of the lineup, i shouldnt have any issue rounding out a bag.

Plus the discraft i have accumulated should pay for most of the new lineup.

.

Excellent choice!!! Mvp/axiom discs are my favorite. Do you already have one disc in mind to start building around? Or are you starting 100% from scratch?

From scratch. I had an Ion when they first released and used it as a catch disc. Dont even remember how it flew.

Hoping to get close to what i have discraft wise. If anyone can make recommendations i appreciate it

Max distance-Cranks: CATALYST/OCTANE

Forehand/Overstable distance-Force: ?

Straight/Overstable fairway- Vulture: VOLT

Understable fairway- Mantis: ?

Overstable mid- Wasp: VECTOR

Straight/Understable mid- Buzzz: ?

Roller- Sail: ?

Putter/approach - Wizard/chally: ION

im not going to comment on the other post but this one screams throw a relay for understable fairway

Yup on the Relay. How OS do you want your OS FH? If you want it really beefy but not ridiculous, then try a Nitro. If you just want a normal OS speed11 type driver, then Photon. If you want ridiculous, either a Phase or Energy. Tangent will fly the same kind of lines as a comet but not as glidey.

for the record i tried to throw every mvp mid to replace the buzz and nothing compares

and the vector is hella gross compared to a wasp

discraft makes the best mids in the game there is reasons you usually see ppl bag DC mids and not their drivers

also (sorry for the further elaboration) you never see anyone bagging mvp mids who doesnt already have mvp as their primary manufacturer ITB
