So, what's the deal with fission photons? Are they discontinued or something, I can't seem to find them in stock anywhere.

Have they run the Runway in any lighter weights? A Runway in 160s sounds like it could be interesting.
Brad posted on FB that they have not been happy with how Fission has been molding up. On the good note, they are releasing some Fission Volts and Telsas in the 170s. There has not been any word on a re-stock of Fission Photons. Glad I have a stock for now. Great disc!
Would a low-weight CD3 be a decent Fiz Photon replacement?
Well, I will never buy anything other than Fission for the Photon.
I guess Discraft will get another slot in my bag when I either loose or wear out my current Photon.
MVP; great designed discs, but for the last 3 years, so much bad plastic. If this keeps up, the Envy may be only disc left in my bag....i have several backups for it.
You could always just get a 150s neutron or plasma while you're waiting...
Man... that new MVP site is either still broken or just sucks balls...
I had to clear my browser cache. The new site is pretty cool. Definitely better than the past site

Yeah the website has had serious downtime....
What's the problem with just getting a 150 Photon or a 165 that's not Fission? I got hung up a little in the wind last time with my 143 but am seriously considering a 165 regular what's the beef with them?
I've got a 165 neutron photon and it just that--beef. For reference, it's closer to my Enforcer than it is to my Trespasses. I have no problem with a neutron Photon but unfortunately the gyro 21.5 stability lineup goes like this--
Defy/Photon (interchangeable) ------------------------------Wave----Vanish
There's a giant gap between The Photon and the Wave, and perfectly spaced gap between the Wave and Vanish. From what I had heard, Fizzion Photons mold up less stable so have a good chance of filling that gap. That's hypothetical for me though, since I have yet to toss a Fiz Pho around.
Fission Photons definitely fill that gap. Yet it is more complicated than that. FRs were very flat and almost chalky and closer to other plastics in terms of flight. The second run of Fission Photons had a "heartbeat" dome that made them stable to US off the shelf. They beat in quickly and can get flippy unless you like throwing flippy plastic and/or like hyper flips without full power. They can be real distance machines if you get to know them. The only issue is they don't hand head winds or crosswinds all that well. Other runs of Fission Photons were then somewhere between the first and second runs. Some were flatter than others and others had more of the heartbeat dome. You really had to pick and choose. Add to that weights. The 130-140 class Fission Photons are even more extremely US. The 150 class is somewhere in between. I really like the 160 class Fission Photons. I like the 167-168g weights. These for me are the sweet spot for Fission. You get the better grip of Fission but you get near max weight with the increased gyro nature because of the greater weigh differential in Fission between the core and the rim. Brad Richardson posted on FB that there had been issues with the molding and they have gone back to figure out Fission and the Photon. So the issue now is that the stock is low to non-existent in most places. Fission was a niche within the MVP brand and not every retailer carried it because of the stigma of lighter "Blizzard"-like plastics (although this is way different than Blizzard). Brad also mentioned releasing Fission in max weight ranges, 170g+. So there is hope that perhaps some more Fissions will be hitting the shelves soon. There have already been sales for 170g+ Fission Volts on the BST FB MVP page.
