[Mids] Recommend an understable mid to me

Hi everybody! Ever since I lost my perfectly beat DX Roc, I've been missing a good understable mid from my bag. I've tried Elements for this slot, but the problem with Elements is that they have too much fade at low speed. I want a mid that I can controllably hyzer flip either to straight or to anny that will hold that line without fading out at low speed. Beat DX Rocs are great for this, but it takes a long time to beat one in to the point where they don't fade. I'd rather have a disc that doesn't take a year of tree hits to get to this point. I throw mids out to around 320 feet so it needs to be able to handle some power without burning, but I'd like a disc that still won't fade out even if I'm only throwing it 240.

I prefer base plastic for mids, although I am willing to go with Star-type premium plastic as well. I don't like champion style plastic, so please don't suggest a Z Comet.

either a s line mystic by gateway or a platinum flying squirrel by abc would be my recommendations.

Star Mako3. I'd recommend Champion Mako3. but you don't like Champion plastic, so go for Star.

A Star Mirage might be an interesting try. It has amazing glide and mid distance. A bit tricky to work with, but once you learn it, it's sweet.

In base or near-base plastic, the DX Roc3 and McPro Roc3 will get you done.

You could probably work those lines with a DX Cobra. It might take a little time to beat into straight at 240 but it will still be faster than beating up a Roc

Would you say the S Mystic fades less than the Element? I was expecting the Element to be pretty flippy and it *is* flippy at high speed, but it can fade pretty good at low speed too. The window where I find it useful is just too small. Too little power and it goes straight and fades. Too much power without enough hyzer and it turns and burns. Good power with good hyzer release and it goes 350 feet and ends up way past my target.

ESP Meteor- always a winner
GL Fuse is another great winner.
Tauras as well, but not sure of the plastics.
Star Mako is a fan favorite too.

Or just another DX Roc and wait...

X or Ti (Ti will take a little work) Comet. Or, and I just threw up in my mouth a little, Stardoggy will tell you get an XT Atlas.

You could also just get another Dx Roc and give it a little "encouragement" to fly a little straighter for you, if you know what I'm sayin'. In all honesty, I don't think you will find a better baseline disc to do what it is that you describe across a broad power spectrum. Dx Rocs pretty much do this better than anything. After trying many, many, discs I have found that whenever I go back to my trusty beat Dx Roc I am always amazed at just how straight it is and how I can shoot a tunnel and have it just finish dead flat.

Funny story, I bought a FR XT Atlas when they came out. I took it out and threw it a couple times and said to myself "Oh, it's just a Buzzz." Then I sold it and bought another Buzzz. I've never owned an X Buzzz, but I guess that might work in this slot as well. Discraft D plastic is so soft I'm afraid a D Buzzz would become unusable after about 5 tree hits.

I throw the theory and tangent. Cant go wrong with plasma or neutron plastic for either mold. I do prefer a veryyyyy sliiight raise to the flight plate (which is normal) on both molds.

Theory is like a slower meteor and tangent is like a comet that handles wind and feels better in the hand.

Theory gets more work on truly US lines.

I've got some DX Roc3's and they definitely have a little more flip than a DX Roc, but they also tend to fade at low speed. I'm guessing they would take just about as much time to get to that perfect fade-free zone that a regular Roc does. I haven't thrown a Mako or a Mako3 in a long time; might give one of those another shot. The Mirage is a putter; do you get mid level distances out of it? I already have Colts that do this shot really well inside of 250 or so.

It isn't funny. Atlases are only funny in the "I am laughing at you for throwing an Atlas" sort of way.

Get a Ti Comet. And start beating in a new Roc (the premium Ti Comet will always be there for you when you need a stand in for a beat Roc).

I've heard a lot of good things about the Tangent so I might try one of those. The Theory is a little less stable I take it?

I just started using the dd warrant for this slot and I am loving it. Exactly what you are ok if for at least in my hand.

Yeah. I actually have started to bag tangent less often unless playing wooded course where i might uae it like a "longer beat up ion/proxy" but those 2 discs just do work.

The theory at max wt is super workable while lighter get a little more US. It has more glide at low speed for sure vs tangent.
