Title says it. Recommend me driving putters right now I'm looking at the devil hawk and the Innova pig. But any suggestions would help.

Reptilian Disc Golf Scale. A lot of people will say Wizards, Ions, Envys, or Judges, but they are all high glide and might as well be throwing a mid with more control and less power. The Scale has less glide so it is prime for shorter shots staying in their own slot without straying into midrange territory.

No, the real answer is Envy. It's not high glide. It is fast for a putter and can be used as a mid, but it powers down fine.

Don't know anything about the Devil Hawk but the Pig is a low glide overstable putter. You might also look into the Harp for low glide overstable. I bag two in BT Hard and love their low profile flatness. Also, the current world champ throws them a lot and he's pretty good:rolleyes:

This or a Spike. I love the Scale, but usually for shorter shots (150' and in) than most drives where you would use a putter. The DevilHawk is pretty similar to a Scale - I liked the DH, but LOVE the Scale (as with most putters, it's a "feel" thing) so the DH is no longer in my bag

Zone aka what the Harp wants to be when it grows up.
End thread.

If you want a putter you can really crank on and get long straight shots, you really can't beat the Envy. I parked a 350ft slight downhill hole with it the other day and when thrown hard it doesn't turn much and barely fades.

A better option if you want some fade in your life is the Harp. It simply will not be turned over and the fade isn't huge but is persistent and dumpy.

I will often bag both beucause of how differently the execute. And honestly the Envy is so long, sometimes I question needing mids at all.

What kind of driving putter do you want?
Overstable wind fighting?
Straight/stable line shaper?
Turnover?
Prefer baseline or premium plastic?

Lots and lots of options. Might be better if you can narrow it down.

Anyone who says Envy is correct in their assessment.

^I would quite say that ANY putter will do, but your point is solid.

Driving putters are almost as personal as putting putters. Having said that, last winter I did a lot of work on throwing putters, and this is what I found:

The most consistently overstable throwing putter was the Big Bead Aviar, a.k.a. the Aviar Driver. They're stopping production of these in Star plastic, so hurry if you want to find one.

The Discmania P3 was not as overstable as it's reputed to be; it's more like an approach-mid, and when I threw it on hyzers, it'd try to flip out of them. The Discmania P2 is more consistent on hyzers.

The Supersoft Wizard was a good throwing putter off the tee.

The longest off the tee for me was the Opto Pure, and this is a very good straight-flying, line-holding putter off the tee. The Lucid Judge was also very good off the tee, maybe not as long as the Pure, but a bit more accurate for me.

Then there is the Nova. I about cut my finger wide open on one of those 'compass points', but the Nova is a dead straight throwing putter. Some guy named "McBeth" uses the Nova, and he's an okay player, so judge for yourself... :)

The approach discs, such as the Colt, Stud, Envy, Proxy, Prodigy A1-A4, etc., do their intended jobs well, but I don't even think of them as true "putters".

^This^ Maybe pair it with a Serpent, depending on your stability needs.

Another vote for the envy here. It's shallow and has a comfortable grip (although that's an opinion, I don't like deep putters personally). It's HSS and straight with a fade. It is fast, but I wouldn't say it's super glidey.

If it is true beef/brick you seek, I have some experience with the harp, but I, personally, would rather power down a verdict for that shot, and found overlap. The only driving putter I bag is an envy, for reference. It's a true do-it-all once you learn its magic.

I would prefer something stiff like DX or XT like my Atlas. Low profile over stable and shallow rim.

I carry a lot of putters. Here's what I have in the bag right now (its all good.)

Pure (Grip, BT Medium) - OWNs straight shots. 5 - 200', controlled flip, I dont care how tight the tunnel is, I'm parking.
Pig (Stiff Pro) - OS forehands, shares work with Harp depending on shot
Harp (VIP) - Reliability in spades
Jokeri (Ultrium) - Beadless Rhyno. picked it up for stable/OS forehands, but loving it for backhand upshots too.

I could mention lots of great putters that are not currently in my bag but I'll leave that to others.

Been using a couple D-line Reefs as driving putters recently, and as long as it's not too windy, getting very good results. Tons of glide and surprising carry. They even do nice sweeping hyzers. They'll go very straight with a flat-to-slight hyzer release, and no OAT.

My normal driving putters are Proxy and Challenger, but the Reef is a pleasant surprise.
