What's in Your Bag: Part 2- MidRange

Depending on number of mids carried..
1: ch coyote or a meteor
2: z Hornet and esp meteor. (Most common lately)
3: z Hornet , DX roc, esp meteor
4+ .. add another meteor, z drone, z comet, domey star roc, or a ch roc3 from field bags

.. I put some slap into my Breaker putters and stretch em out

I'm new, (6 months in) so still in the Experimentation stage with discs as my form changes

but I love my mids and carry a lot of them

1.
my original
Beat! Champ Roc3, perfectly seasoned, will hold any line you put it on-what I Imagine a Mako would be, except longer- can't throw in FH :(
2. Z-Meteor--US- obvious turnovers and hyzer flip for tunnel shots-my 1 disc round- disc-sneaky long!
3. Z-Buzzz SS - new perfectly straight disc-(will probably beat into slightly US)
4. Z-Buzzz ----because, well, BUZZZ! fairly OS(new Z) works well for Flex Tunnel shots
5. Z-Buzzz OS- forehands and spike hyzers

Should throw these more from the Tee, for accuracy, and improving form, but those tempting Drivers keep luring me in :(

It's officially winter here now, so all my good stuff gets stored away and for mids, I now carry;
D-Drone
DX- Roc
DX- Cobra

I hate winter!

This is the only area that isn't pretty set. I enjoy finding new Mids to tryout. I feel like i carry a lot, but i love them. Currently i bag a Star Gator, Champ King Cobra, Star Mako3, and PearlyZ Buzzz. I have now switched out my stingray for the Mirage solely from SD86's suggestion. it's a very small rim to grip, but now that i've gotten used to it, it's much easier to throw IMO and takes far less to make it work

Honorable mention - though classified and advertised as an approach, the Innova Mirage definitely gets midrange distances, and acts like an understable mid.

thanks for the suggestion!

2 K1 Kaxe
1 Z, 1 ESP, and 1 X Comet

I love comets. Only disc that has stayed in the bag since I started 4 yrs ago

XT Roc - Stable, no turn. Love this disc for technical upshots 200' on in.
Glow Roc - DX. Cheap, beat to hell. Extreme hyzer flips and turnovers. Rescue rollers.
MD3 - C line, Stable. My main mid for tee shots. Goes flat, straight, with solid finish left.
Mako 3 - Star, max weight. Neutral. Flys straight, finishes straight. Holds anny or hyzer line as you release it.

EMac Truth - Lucid. My friend gave me a couple. They are almost identical to my MD3s, maybe a bit of turn at release more than the MD3. But finishes similarly. Same glide and distance, so I dont think I will bag it. Very nice discs, but I'm sticking with Innova/ Discmania.

This summer and fall I settled in to:

175g dx roc semi-beat - straight to slight turnover
175g dx roc less semi-beat- straight slight fade
175g dx roc pretty fresh - straight to fade
173g q sentinel - overstable, flex, hard forehands.

Crazy hyzerflip to turnover shots go to a thrashed old "throw in the dark" dx Aviar. Not a mid, I know, but damn near as long and functional for me in the hyzerflip mid drive slot.

Champ king cobra
Star vcobra (straight)
Dx cobra

Esp zone (glow gator when I get sick of the zone)

I've been messing with a pro vcobra to see if can replace my dx.

Champion Roc3 (drools) DX Gator, M4, Champion Panther. The Champion Panther is basically a speed 5 Dart and the Roc3 is for forced anhyzers or just overstable mid shots. Gator is for throwing flat and letting it fade to the basket. In the first 3 rounds with this disc, I've already gotten 1.5 fairway aces. (Second attempt chained out). Gator is so freaking predictable!!!

Glad you're liking the Mirage. Mine is saving strokes all the time. Yesterday I tied my personal best score on my home course, and parking the Mirage three times from troublesome locations was integral in that.

Im throwing a champ roc3, a z comet and a very os champ gator. Lost my tangent somewhere practicing.

750 M1
400G M2
400G M4
Big Z Comet
Lucid Verdict - because I can't forehand the previous discs.
Champ Panther - also for forehands.

I really love throwing the first four discs backhand but can't for the life of me get them to come off my hand clean with a forehand shot.

In my mini vacation bag I've just got a max weight eclipse vector.

Full bag mid setup would look like this:

- 178g beat Axis - hyzerflips, turnovers, etc
- 180g Axis - lasers
- 179g Vector - Slightly OS, hyzers & straight to fade power mid shots

I also bag a Proxy and Envy, which throw like slow mids, so those come into play on a lot of shots where I might consider one of my mids.

Fairly minimal because I use a ton of forehands at 250' and under, so mid / putter turnovers aren't a shot I frequently use. I'm also very comfortable powering down Resistors so I don't tend to bag super OS mids.

Very happy with this setup and don't expect it to change....but I will be messing around with a Matrix soon to see if it offers any advantages for me over the Axis and Vectors.

i always tell people i hope i don't have to use it, but glad i have it in case I'm in trouble lol

I roll with the Westside trifecta: TP Bard, VIP Warship, TP Warship and VIP Tursas.

The TP Warship is my line shaping workhorse. VIP Warship for a touch more fade with Bard and Tursas for OS and US, respectively, complements...
