I never have been a Paige fan for some reason. But this was hard to watch. I definitely feel for her. Knowing that she has basically every shot in the book and, missed closing it out by just a bad mistake, is super rough.

Kudos to Cat for keeping it together to be in the position to make the play she did. Well done.

I would guess that it's for the same reason people don't like the Patriots. People like to root for the underdog, and Paige Pierce by virtue of being the best female player we have ever seen is never the underdog. So you can realize and respect that she's that good, then hope somebody beats her.

I have always been a Paige fan. Honestly, her social media douchbaggery has turned me. It can be a powerful tool.....and I am not even on facebook, instagram, reddit or any other app. If she would have just shut up and played golf, she would have one more fan. Shrug.

Paige and Cat mainly played conservatively culminating with Paige leading by 1 coming into 16, the island hole. At this point Lisa is 3 back of Paige.

Everyone misses the island and goes OB except Lisa who has a 20ft putt.

Paige throws in from the drop zone(70ft) to save par, Cat is just short and then Lisa, sho has not missed a c1 putt all day 3putts. She's out of it at this point.

17, Cat throws a good drive and Paige pushes hers into a tricky spot on the right side. She then hits an early tree, goes long on the approach and takes a 5.

Cat throws a FH and had a 45ft putt, lays up and just gets one back.

On 18 Cat throws a great placement drive and puts pressure on Paige who has screwed up the hole every time. Paige crushes her drive and it's pinched off on the right.

Cat CRUSHES a turnover Bh that holds in bounds by inches but has a 28 ft putt.

Paige jump putts into the flat thinking Cat can't make the putt. But her approach is babied and she goes OB.

All cat had to do after that was lay up and tap in.

So basically Pierce had a two-stroke lead with two to go, then went bogey-double bogey and all Allen had to do was go par-par. That sucks. If somebody comes from behind, you would prefer somebody hitting clutch birdies to grab the lead.

Cat's 2nd on 18 was really clutch...put her in position to birdie. Paige then flubbed her up OB and missed a putt so Cat could lay up and soak in the win.

Well put. I'm a McBeth fan and I never felt that way with Paige. So, in this case, I don't think that her dominance is my issue.

I do think the Patriots analogy is a good one. When the Patriots, and Brady, win, though, it doesn't bother me. I think all of the hate for them is comical.

Now... being an Os fan, I do have hard feelings towards the Yankees! And don't even get me started about the Cowboys, being a Redskins fan. LOL!

Paige definitely blew it more than Cat won it. Up 2 with 2 to go, just couldn't seal the win. Just needed Par/Par to secure the win. The upshot on 17 & 18 were pure nerves.

She had legitimately terrible shots on each of the last three holes, all with the same disc (I think). The misses on 16 and 18 both seemed like she threw the wrong type of shot with the wrong type of disc.

Different thing every time. Got wet once, hit a tree, baby yelled. She just hated 18.

The tee shot crosses the water and must avoid some trees, then the hole doglegs right at almost 90 degrees. From there it is wide open, but paint on the ground creates a keyhole shape of inbounds area, with a fairway about 20' wide, ending in what is probably the 10-meter circle as inbounds area (which forms the top of the keyhole shape). So once they turn that dogleg corner (protected by a mando), there is lots of wide open grass, but most of it is marked OB. Players must land their disc within that keyhole shape.

Eh...I don't really follow pro disc golf so I don't have a dog in this hunt, but it seems like she catches a lot of crap online. She probably stuck her foot in her mouth a few times so far this year, but I think she deserves a lot more slack than she has been given. I've not agreed with some things she has said, but it's not really making me happy that this happened to her. I don't think anything she has said has been so horrible that we should be rooting for her to lose. She's allowed to have an opinion, even one that I don't agree with.

McBeth says stuff all the time I don't agree with and nobody ever seems upset with anything he has said (even though he's the thinner baskets guy and that has decreased everyone's enjoyment of being on DGCR by like 1/3). :| I think we could probably cut Pierce quite a bit more slack than we do.

My distaste for PP doesn't have much to do with what she says. She literally broke the rules in round 4, and it saved her at least a stroke. Her losing at the end was just karma. Plus she's had some pretty childish outbursts after events (off camera).
