AGL discs

Saw these pop up - I'm interested in the putters with the thumbtrack. I use RDG and Element Discs putters Serpent and Iridium as well as the Scale - I love those. Curious if this is a new disc altogether or what?

Manzanita? muy bien. but who has more info?:popcorn:

I just got an AGL Sycamore and I am going to try it out this weekend. It is 175g in Treeline plastic which kind of feels like a KC Pro to me. Flight numbers are listed as 7/5/0/1. I first saw AGL on Infinite's site and on the Instagram. I enjoy trying out smaller companies discs even if this is a well filled slot in the bag. The Sycamore feels pretty deep compared to a Teebird or TL and I am not sure how I feel about that yet. Haven't tried the putters, mid, or driver. I do like how they have a beaded or non beaded thumbtrack options for putters being a fan of both.

Just what the world needs, another disc manufacturer. :/

Realizing the sport is continuously growing, I still don't understand why these new brands continue popping up.

To anyone considering a new disc golf company, don't! But, if you do, come up with a better name than AGL - that has for to be a candidate for worst company name ever...

Picked up a Magnolia from a sponsored player, and it flies nice! Buzzz feel in hand with a microbead, but feels "chunkier" in the hand like a Roc3. Good disc IMO. The plastic looks and feels nice too.

What does "nice" mean here, vis a vis the flight? Like a Buzzz? Like a Roc3?

Well since Element Discs is not really making discs anymore just doing custom stamps, it is fine if a company makes discs using the Element Molds and possibly making new ones.

Well in my experience, the Buzzz and roc3 and interchangeable (your mileage may vary). however, I would compare the Magnolia more to a Buzzz. very, very straight.

A local kid here is sponsored; he's raving about the Magnolia. His shots with it are just stable. Seemed like a pretty straight mid from his throws.

He won't give me his Manzanita, though. :\

A couple of locals are sponsered. Both love the Magnolia.

I've tried everything and like everything except the Cedar (too shallow of a rim). I've got a Manzanita and it could kick my Lunas out of the bag, if I give it more time. I'm thinking of grabbing a Locust, Sycamore, another Magnolia (have a special one and I just can't bring myself to throw it), and a Ponderosa and use that as my winter bag, or at least the core (would need a Zone still as well as at least 1 Comet and my Raptor).

I'm interested in trying the ponderosa for floaty approches.
The Locust looks good but I think it would overlap with my Diablos.

I don't have a really good handle on this company; I know they are made by Gateway, but I can't keep them straight in my head.

NOTE: I'm not dragging them for using Gateway molds; a bunch of companies have done similar things with Innova and nobody cares if the discs are good. I'm just familiar with Gateway so comparing them to Gateway discs works for my brain.

What I think I know (but might not know since the point of this post is I don't know)
Baobab is a beadless Stego. It has a thread: AGL Baobab

Manzanita is the Iridium which was a beadless Scale. There was thread about the Iridium: Element Discs Iridium

Madrone is the Plutonium which is a Serpent with a VooDoo wing instead of a Magic wing. The Plutonium had a thread: Element Discs Plutonium PDGA Approved and Now Available!

Ponderosa is a putter that doesn't have the Reptilian top. It has the Magic wing, though. And the approval numbers are almost identical to the Magic. I'm going to say if it's not the Magic, it's reeeaaalllyyy close.

Beech is that prototype OS Gateway mid from 2019-2020 that never went into production. I have one of the Gateway prototypes (so I might be the only person on here that knows what I'm talking about) but haven't seen a Beech so I'm not 100% sure about that.

Magnolia is the Karma? Scout? I've been told it's an OOP neutral stable Gateway mid.

Sycamore-Fairway driver.

Locust-???

Cedar-???

Cypress-appears to be OOP. It has a thread: AGL Discs Cypress

Anyone who can add/correct information here is encouraged to, you know...post. :|

Out of pure curiosity, which manufacturer, in your opinion, was the last one disc golf 'needed'? I'm not saying your wrong, I just hadn't thought about there being too many manufacturers.

Pretty much everybody that meets the guy behind AGL likes him, a good guy, a family man, etc.

And if you knew his life's journey to this point, you would tread a little lighter, not lob so many grenades at him.

Just talking about golf discs here, man. Gotta be able to talk about 'em for anybody to know anything about 'em.

The Ponderosa isn't a Magic copy, but it has the same wing for sure. The top is really nice on the hand and makes for a great truly US putter.

Magnolia is the most popular mold I would guess, and is the perfect Buzzz/Truth hybrid with a microbead. Slightly OS with a comfy feel both BH and FH.

Sycamore is a flippy FW that really didn't impress me outside of the first few throws with it. It does make a great standstill winter hyzerflip driver though.

Locust is very OLF like. Some turn and then bigger fade. Not a great FH disc, at least for me, but others around me like it for that.

Cedar is a shallow OS driver that I can't do anything with, but I've only ever thrown a friend's so I haven't had a ton of experimental time with it. It's also pretty uncomfortable in the hand for my BH and my FH grip isn't great either.

I can elaborate more if needed even on the molds that I didn't give more info on, except the turd that is the Beech, which I threw 5 times and hated all but one (which I merely disliked).
