Finally got the distance drivers pretty well sorted, I think. Now I'm learning my fairways. I've cut down the number of discs in the bag because, well, they're in a bag now instead of a cart. Trying to see if I can build a complete setup in a Upper Park Shift. This feels pretty rounded. I'm missing my Athena and Flick, but I think at this point that's alright. The Construct I have in there is pretty stable, and I think between the Raptor and the Photons, I have the shots I'd normally use those for covered, when that's the bag I've got with me.

I gather that you like comets . Do you keep discs handy to shore up the bag for windy rounds?

I forgot all about Passions. I was going to get one to compare it to Cyclones, but I totally flaked when I was ordering discs this spring.

Fierce is interesting; how did that end up being your putter? I've got old-school putter bias and it seemed really shallow to me.

The Passion interests me, but availability for low 160s and lighter seems very hit or miss. Do you find your 164 ESP Passion significantly more inclined to turn over vs. your 175 ESP Passion?

Edit: And how would you compare Passion to Cyclones? (I threw Cyclones years ago). TIA

Honestly, that's what the Athenas are for. I used to use an ESP Avenger (non-SS) for that. Underpowering the Avenger didn't result in much fade, after I got it worn in, so I could throw it for shots people would throw a Buzzz or a Roc for. I'm pretty sure the Athena will beat in to do the same. I know it's unorthodox, but I'd rather have a mold I'll use for other shots, than add another single purpose mold to the bag.

The Passion starts out flying like a moderately seasoned Cyclone, but with more glide. I honestly throw the light one for turnovers, and for most of my other fairway shots I'm throwing the heavy Athena right now. It's not a bad disc, but it's sort of in-between the XL/Avenger combo I used to pair for fairways...

The Fierce is what flies most like an APX, now that the APX is all but discontinued. I don't like throwing plastic I can't find a replacement for. While I'm willing to keep rare Comets in my bag, I know I can at least buy new Comets. A run of Jawbreaker APXs here and there wasn't inspiring confidence, so I checked out a few other putters. The Ion came close, the Luna was more stable than I wanted. My main gripe with the Fierce is it has so much glide, that I'm still working on distance control for longer upshots...

The light Passion is a completely different animal than the heavy one. The heavy one flies like a moderately seasoned Cyclone with more glide. The light one I can flip up from a pretty steep hyzer, or throw on a long, high turnover, and not have it fade out. It's sort of like a longer, faster Comet...

And y'know, I have considered putting more Comets in my bag! I have a Cryztal Sparkle one that's waiting on some dye, so I'm not afraid of losing it every time I throw it, and I found another old school ESP one I'm waiting to hear back on returning to its previous owner. At least one of those is making its way into the bag

A few more weeks practice with the bag. A few changes.

The Nuke is out. I really was just keeping it in for ground play, which I get out of the Flick.
I added a beefy ESP Scorch (super domey) that I got from a tournament, which helps soften the loss of the Nuke in the air
I pulled the light weight Athena, but I'm adding it in situationally (eg- this weekend is a tournament that I know the Athena is the line on one of the holes, but it'll have a tailwind, so the light weight will get me more distance)
I swapped the Anax out for a light weight ESP Raptor
I added another Comet (whaaaaaaat), because I got a couple max weight Z ones to start cycling as payouts at a tournament
I pulled the CryZtal Fierce, because the Z Swirl does most of the same things, and the CryZtal sits wierd in the hand
I added a heavy ESP Zone, to start wearing in as a replacement for the old light weight one

The Passions are out. I kept the light one for turnovers, but the flippy Heat does the same thing, but longer (as long as I can control the fade). I need something to replace it with, but I'm short on ideas for what... I need a stable fairway, with very little fade. Thinking I might add my Crave or Relay back in this week to try out, before this weekend's tournament.

Added a Cryztal Sparkle Comet that I had dyed for me, because it looks as nice as it flies! I took out the Big Z Comet, because the one I added to start cycling is just as stable as it was, and it's easier to replace.

Added a light weight (168g) ESP Scorch that just booooooooooooooooooombs on tailwind drives. It turns and keeps turning, fading to flat. Lots of use for it, but I need to practice with it more, to figure out the right release angles to control it...

Star TL, TL3, or S-FD are my two top choices for a low-fade stable fairway.

Never really liked the TL. Didn't sit well in the hand. Hoping to find something from Discraft or MVP and their subsidiaries. I'd just throw an XL, if they made them anymore...

Rhythm might work for you. I got a sample of one stock run and it's not as flippy as the flight numbers suggest. Similar flight as a seasoned FD and I have lots of FDs.

If you can check the fb market for the circuit rhythms. They are much smoother out of the box. I don't know if you have thrown a neutron soft uplink but the flight is similar but longer. The stock runs of rhythms are a great fh disc, the circuits a better bh but you throw further than me. They are still fairly close to each other kind of Valk vs TL I think.. I dunno innova good these days

I push maybe 300' and thrown appropriately I can get either a laser with about a 10ft fade at the end or a flex that wanders 5ft and fades 5ft. It kinda took my relay spot and is kind of like a pfn crave with more glide. If that helps.

I think I have about 8 of the circuits 172-74g... haha, 2 stock L2s 174 and one se 160. The 160 se is a nice in-between. It took about 2 months to straighten out with occasional use. They've become a one driver solution for me in-between a tesla and occasional 155 signal

The circuit ones are like saving yourself probably two months of wear out of the box. I've already got my stock 160 G one to break into fairly straight flight, my first experience was with the circuits so I wasn't immediately as enamored when I got the 160 G but it's grown on me. Think relay vs crave as the starting point. The new ones have a very flat top as opposed to the circuits that had a small Dome

I take that back. Discerdoo is right, stock runs of rhythm are the right answer. I ended up leaning on my 160g flat se a lot in the tournament for those gotta be straight shots.
