Highbridge Hills - Wisconsin

So who owns or is going to own this property/courses? Been wanting to take another trip up there, but I'm extremely reluctant given the stories that seem to change monthly.

Do not know.

New cabin for rent:

Mountain Man aka Tom W. is the current owner/operator.

Can't wait for our trip up there in a few weeks!

Visited HH for the first time yesterday and today.

What a fantastic place. I could tell that Mountain Man is putting a ton of time and effort in, and that was very much appreciated. Leaves are starting to change color and fall. I would guess peak color might be this weekend or next there. I had the place largely to myself for most of the time that I was there, which was magical.

I played all five courses once, then a second round on Blueberry. The back 9 (technically holes 8-16) of Highbridge Gold is now open, with one basket per hole (the front 9 has two baskets per hole). Hole 8 is an absolute monster at 1440 feet long. I think my arm fell off just looking at it.

Lots of smaller redesigns appear to have taken place since the maps posted here/at the check in station on site were created. No idea exactly when all this happened, but I imagine some of this must be old news from a year or two ago. It was hard to tell exactly which holes got redesigned.
- Blueberry: some of the holes in the middle. Maybe #8-11?
- Bear: The whole middle of the course got redesigned. Holes 3-12 I think?
- It felt like some pin locations got tweaked elsewhere too. Couldn't really tell for sure.

I'll try my best to update course info pages, etc. But it's probably gonna be a week or more before I get to that, and honestly it's a formidable task. I don't know if all the most current information on distances, etc. is even available anywhere. Obviously I'll write reviews eventually too.

But the short version is that all five courses have 18 playable holes. Signage ranges from passable to poor, but I want to emphasize that the courses were all in good condition! My legs and throwing arm, not so much. :D

Highbridge is a confusing animal. Blueberry had a lot of new holes, seems like the most rerouted course. I also played a couple rounds there. Bear is the same as it has been for a few years. Old holes 1 and 2 are gone. Replaced by 10 and 11? Much improved imo.

Granite is better than it's ever been. Woodland is the same. I wouldn't update any distances or pars. Bear has been the same for awhile. If it's looking like most of Bear was redone, you may have grabbed an old Woodland/Bear map, which like it sounds, was a hybrid course combining holes on each before Bear was finished.

I'm looking forward to your reviews

I'd let Chuck and Tom handle the pars/distances.

Blueberry revision info is up-to-date on DGCR and UDisc. Woodland hasn't changed since installation in mid-2000s. As mentioned, The Bear has had some holes removed and added resulting in renumbering which I don't believe has been updated. Granite has dual baskets and some short tees added with DGCR info needing an update. Gold needs a major update but is still in transition with dual baskets and reverting almost to original routing. I'll be up there this weekend and see about getting the latest info to fill these gaps.

Even better! I will let you look at it then Cgk. Thanks both of you!! If I can help with anything or answer questions based on what I saw let me know :)

Yes - I used DGCR app to score all of my rounds and Woodland/Blueberry seemed correct. Granite seemed like it was partially correct but I got the impression that the distances listed are a mix of what is now short and long pin positions. I played the long/main tees to short baskets on that one. Bear and Gold both seemed significantly off. The map on site had the Gold back 9 on it with some corrections made by hand, which was very helpful. The map seemed correct for Gold but not correct for Bear.

Regardless, it was such a fantastic day and a half playing there. The rain mostly held off too, despite being spotty throughout the area the last few days. Got drizzled on for most of the Gold front 9 and that was about it. Just want to thank everyone again who is involved in keeping the courses maintained. There can't be many other places where you can throw 90 different holes (or what, 162+ if you count the different layouts???) without moving your car.

We still have DG on the Hill this year, right?

This'll be my year finally getting up that way. Hopefully. Was supposed to be last September but there was a schedule conflict I had overlooked.
Yep, ready for action. One maybe two cabins available this year for rental. Check with Mountain Man on availability.

Hopefully.

Make sure to turn that "hopefully" into a "definitely". You'll love it up there. That being said, it's probably unlike anything you've played before. Expect about 2 hours solo on all courses besides Woodland. Minimum.

It's bucket list stuff though. Bring water, will power and endurance. You'll get to leave with one of them. Choose wisely ;)

anyone see there allegedly is a new course at hh on udisc called "the playground"

anyone confirm or know moar

I saw it there when I visited last fall. Just a very short course that plays down the hill to the west from the parking lot near the gold course like the others said. Seemed like a putter-only kind of deal, if I remember correctly.

The Playground Course at Highbridge Hills

The Playground is our newest course at the Highbridge Hills Disc Golf Megaplex. Modeled after the Innova Ace Place design concept, this is an 18 hole course, with every tee shot being an ace run.

At 2200 ish ft, it's the perfect course for beginners and veterans of the game. It's also a FREE for the public to play course, a concept initiated by Chuck Kennedy many years ago, when he first built Chestnut Grove.

The Playground is also a great warm up course. You can play a 2 hole loop, or a 6 hole loop, right from our front yard, while waiting for your friends to arrive.

Our plan is to run flex start 50/50 Ace Races on the weekends, starting some time this summer. All baskets and tees are lighted for glow rounds. Rubber tee pads are on site and in the process of being installed.

Hope to see everyone enjoying the hill this year. Thanks. Tom

I needed an excuse to come back up to the hill. Now I got one.

My first go at The Bear was a wet and miserable one so perhaps this time the weather will be like my second visit which was the complete opposite of my first.

ALL RIGHT!! I am heading for my first trip to Highbridge. Any insight, hints, guidance from you savvy vets of this complex?
Make sure to hit one of the nearby artesian wells for your drinking water. Water never tasted so great...

IIRC the one we used was easy access from County Rd C. Head north on C. It'll curve left. The well will be on your left hand side just past York Rd. About a 10 min drive, if I'm looking at the right well (keep in mind its been over 15 yrs since I've been there).
