100' dead-straight putt. Making long putts while others look on in jealousy/amazement is suh-weeet, especially when you are able to successfully hide your own amazement/disbelief.
Edit: I'm sure aces are sweeter, but I wouldn't know...
x2. though ive been getting my rollers out FAAAR lately and thats FUN. checked a particularly nice one at huntington the other day that was 496' according to google earth. easy open shot from just outside the parking lot to the basket.
I agree, those approach shots or long putts that go in feel awesome, you've already resigned yourself to the 3 on the hole and then you hit chains for the 2.
Aces do feel better, but I don't hit them very often so I'll take the smaller gratification on a more regular basis.
You can play a safe ace route on some holes. Usually you have to hyzer or have some backdrop.honestly aces feel like dirty shots to me. a shot thats close to an ace is coming hot, high and off-target. if they miss, they miss big.
thats a good point. id say the VAST majority of aces are flukes/cubbys though.
