I like save shots a lot. A bad upshot followed by a great long putt feel very good.

I would imagine that an ace would feel better. =(

I consider extremely gratifying a perfectly executed "trouble" approach, where you have to hit a barely-bigger-than-disc sized gap, shape a perfect line (with more than one turn a bonus) through a forest of obstacles, and land ever so gently on a postage stamp sized green with major trouble short, long, and to either side.

100' dead-straight putt. Making long putts while others look on in jealousy/amazement is suh-weeet, especially when you are able to successfully hide your own amazement/disbelief. :D

Edit: I'm sure aces are sweeter, but I wouldn't know...

I agree, those approach shots or long putts that go in feel awesome, you've already resigned yourself to the 3 on the hole and then you hit chains for the 2.

Aces do feel better, but I don't hit them very often so I'll take the smaller gratification on a more regular basis.

My rollers, uh, need some, let's just say, a little work. :\

honestly aces feel like dirty shots to me. a shot thats close to an ace is coming hot, high and off-target. if they miss, they miss big.

A blind 120' hyzer upshot that goes out of the woods and straight into the chains.Made that shot on a tournament last year and all on my card was like....YOU CAN´T DO THAT...and I was like what just happened?Did I make it?Did it go in?.After that I felt very good and was very happy.Hope I will make a crazy hard awesome shot into the chains next year.

You can play a safe ace route on some holes. Usually you have to hyzer or have some backdrop.

thats a good point. id say the VAST majority of aces are flukes/cubbys though.

Maybe peeps should only count aces that they call before hand?

"Yo punks, watch dis...[ching] I's gots mad skillz!":D

I agree. Any long putt over 50ft just looks so cool when it hits the chains.

I've had a few "field aces." Those are the most fun for me, but if you want to call a 100' shot that goes in a "putt," that's fine too. I just can't use a putting motion from that distance, and I agree with Apothecary about aces. I'd rather throw a dozen parked birdies in a round than 4 aces. Well, maybe not, because 4 aces in a round would make me feel like Chuck Norris's little brother, but I'm still going for the parkage rather than the aceage.

I've only had one shot stick in the basket from a tee, and that was during a practice round at my home course so it's not an official ace. But it felt great. So when I get my first ace, I'm sure that it will be totally sweet.

But the 260' upshot for a tap-in is nice too... and much more achievable for me thus far.
