Check out this new putter... the rim is manufactured to be black.
(thanks to mashnut for identifying this disc through a description i posted on another section.)

Mashnut detailed that the rim and flight plate are different materials.

The one i saw was just like the green one,but the owner had used a sharpie to fill in the inner molding "circle". (the next putter or approach disc i get, i will but in champion plastic so i can duplicate this look, it was very unique and soooo sweet..... )

I can vouche that the overall look was really nice, but i cannot speak for its performance.

you can buy them here- > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...fffc47a&itemid=320502234554&ff4=263602_263622

i have NO affiliation with the manufacturer, i only discovered this link as Mashnut mentioned it was an "ion" and i googled it.

I think the two plastics idea is really cool, if I wasn't so happy with my current putter situation I would be interested in trying it, I just don't want to mess up what's working for me right now.

You guys think any of the other manufacturers will try this double plastic molding thing? It seems like a pretty cool idea to me.

DGR is easily the definitive master on this subject (shocker, I know) but here's our little innocent thread on it. MVP Ion?

They're tons of fun to throw and it's saying something because I hate throwing putters. Great form checker, lots of glide, really minimal tree kicks and just collapses in chains. Stability wise, it's just straight but any junk in your throw is gonna turn and wobble it. On good, clean throws I'm starting to get it out there around 250' which is really good for me. I can't wait for the firm ones to come out.

I was actually just thinking about how hilarious it would be if Discraft did something like this for the ace race. But MVP has to have some sort of patent on it I would think.

quest and gateway did something sort of similar with a putter a while back. a bit different but same concept. http://www.questat.com/OdysseyMidrangeApproach.html

i wanna say the putter is oop and was just a trial thing for a bit. i met a guy at a tourney who used one and it def did not feel comfortable to me at all.

the ion is nice. ive been toying with it for the past few days and its really good for driving. im not too keen on the slick top to try to putt with it but driving its not a big deal. the one thing i love about it is the grippy outter plastic. it makes crappy single chain baskets grab like 3 chain baskets. upon impact with a tree or object of the sort,it just sorta absorbs the impact and barely moves from where it hit. which is nice because as most of you know, hitting trees can ricochet your precious plastic into craptastic places

Come on guys...can't you people stop bringing it up till I have the money to spare on the ones I've been eyeballing forever? THEN you can post about them being the best thing since sliced bread. That's how its supposed to go down...

Ok, from all these things I have read here and on DGR, I can't find anything about if this disc is PDGA approved or not. If not , its of no use to me if I can't use it in tournaments.

The Ion is PDGA approved. It is approved under the name CAM REALTY because they provided the investment capital to make MVP Discs happen.

Yep, I've got a couple of them and they are chain magnets. Love the way they feel in my hand. Read that thread in DGR for all the info you need.

What is the mold similar to? Aviar bead no bead etc. Flat domey?

Its very similar in profile to only one other disc...The Voodoo. If you haven't held a Voodoo, its got a flat top, and totally rounded nose/wing, and a very small bead at the bottom.

I'm loving my Ion so far. It is amazing for short drives/ approaches with its crazy glide. If you haven't thrown an Ion, one thing that is awesome to see is how well it grabs the chains. Once the disc hits the chains, the outside edge acts almost like glue, stopping the disc.
