This Stone dye is badass!

dyes 2,3 & 4

Finally got around to posting my second & third run of dyes. Marvin and the BullGod are 2010 AceRace ESP. 1 bad bleed on Marvin and minor bleeding where the stamp was on both. The White Zombie is a Z Buzzz with a little problem at the bottom. I did a candy cane and the same Stone as Dan, sans marble, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to post dye4dye side x side with those kinda skills. I'd like to do a granite affect but I have NFC how.

I'd like to do a granite affect but I have NFC how.

I've thought on this and my idea is similar to sponging faux finish, it'll be messy as hell. Tear up a sponge, you need different parts or you'll see a pattern, dip in one concentrate mixture, sponge on, rotate sponge to get different area, dip, apply, this should give you a good base color. Take your second color and repeat just maybe as a highlight color, maybe co with third. you'll have to keep it damp long enough to get it into "setting" Tupperware with wet paper towel, leave overnight or 24 hours. not sure why you'd want one as it would camouflage the disc fairly well, unless used as a highlighting method like a good marbleize effect does.. Just my 2cents on how I would do it if I was going to approach it.
I've done a granite look on furniture with paints and that is similar to the technique I used for that

Like the way you started that Fishy, it'll be messy as hell! JTacoma did a nice granite looking Oregon disc posted in the marbling thread

This Stone dye is badass!
I showed that one and several others off today at KC's Disc golf day, the first guy I showed it to, a big Stone brewery fan spun on his heel, came back in about two minutes with two bottles of Stone IPA and said he didn't think anyone in kansas even new, damn fine beer :D

Didn't sell that one but did sell several others, i get to keep playing!

Just finished dyes number 2 and 3. The one with Ron Swanson is on a pink boss and I found out the ill effects of high temps the hard way. The other was a reddish champ leopard and I can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with the way this turned out, you can't tell from the pic but it turned out a dark purple color looks really sweet. This is definitely addictive but I can't wait to get down to the course and start taking some orders so I can get a plotter.

Is the mis-spelling of recommend part of the joke?

Well here it goes. you wanna throw like the players you gotta play with the players, you wanna dye like the players......well this was a nice drive that just clipped a tree 20' for the hole and ended up 40' away....bogie. The good was good, the bad was bad. 4th time in 3 dyes bleeding where vinyl creased near the rim, 4 spots. I saw it pre dip didn't know how to fix, i thought I had it mashed down. maybe hairdryer next time. Longest cut 3-4hrs , the exacto 360 was nice on the tight arcs.

Finished these in the last few weeks. I'm new to the art, and this is my first post on the thread, although I've read it for months. I'm pretty happy with the stormtrooper. The Atlas Claptrap is from Borderlands and it didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it, but I'm I've got high hopes for version 2.0.
Stormtrooper Atlas

Ideas of the simplest way to post photos are appreciated :)
Also: The Atlas turned out purple, even though the dye i was using was rit black. suggestions?

Looks like blue on blue here, in the hand it's purple on blue. These simple one color, popular designs are selling like hotcakes. As you see... it was that horrible black stamp that's impossible to entirely remove.

No, just grey I believe. I did this on a silver GL Riot

BOO, then my Blue Voodoos with jsut keep stock stamps... I mean I guess grey may be ojkay who knows?
