[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread

Steve,

What about if guys had a Vibram Disc Page, to show all of the custom stuff you have done already. Like the VO 10 disc, and the 2010 Players Cup Disc. It could be like a Museum of Vibram Disc's.

A couple links to share with you all:

1. Talk Disc Golf's Q&A with yours truly (enjoy the meatloaf recipe!)

2. Our version of a monthly contest, as we will be picky in who gets these:

I am curious about the hotstamping on Vibram discs. I like it for tournament discs but part of the reason I like Vibram is the lack of an unpredictable hotstamp. The one pictured looks great. How can I get all ten of those tournaments with Vibram sponsorships to be in Colorado?

I like this idea. So much that I may just do it!

I threw the proto Trek a couple times today and found that it flew very similar to my Star TL but maybe a little faster.

Ok Steve, I plunked down my hard earned cash today for the local 150 class tourney.
I need to know exactly which discs you can get down to 158 grams.
I know you're not running any softs until the fall, so I won't even ask about those, but can I get a X Link VP ?
I think I would prefer a VP for the stability in the lighter weight over the Ridge.
Can you run both firm and regular Ridges under 160 grams ?

Just get one here! I'd actually play one if it was sponsored by Vibram :hfive:

150-Class Ridges and Ascents are already out there (in X-Link I think, X-Link Firm should be out in the next few weeks.) We'll be making the Trak in 150-Class when it comes out, no plans on VPs or Summits for the time being.

If your local store does not carry the 150-Class Vibrams, please let them know that they exist (not everyone reads the retailer emails). Thanks.

Just left my disc bag in the car for a few hours on a warm day (high 80's and sunny). My Ridge and Ascent both ended up completely changing while the rest of my discs were unphased. The Ascent is now an understable roller, more like a beat DX Leopard, and the Ridge is something wholly new for me. It flies unlike any disc I have tried. It's visibly warped like I have never seen any of my other discs warp. This is not necessarily a bad thing, though. I played a round and the thing found chains better than anything has ever done for me. I didn't miss a single put under 25' for an entire round of 18, which is crazy for me. I was just very surprised at how they responded to the heat.

I have left my discs in a hot car before. Never had any Vibram discs change characteristics. There is also the microwave trick to repair warping in vibram discs. Ask Mr. Dodge about that one.

Yeah. After my last post, I scoured the thread and found some info on that. I will give it a try.

The microwave does it quicker, but you can also just leave them on a table upside down for a night or two. Let us know if they get the warp out. I've also not experienced this, but it is possible - and should fix itself.

I'll let you know how it goes. I am also interested now to look at the discs again when I get home and see if they haven't returned to normal on their own.

I finally got out to throw my Trek protos. It was only for a few throws because the course was packed and I did not want to slow people down.

I did notice that they liked to take the elevator to the top floor but still fly straight, not like those that rocket upwards as they are about to stall.

I am going to wait until I throw them more before I submit an actual review.

Any word on the Sol? My putting with a yeti has been terrible lately and switched back to my KCs. I heard from Chris Deitzel that the sol will be like a aviar. I would love to try it out.
