I don't use a hyzer flip much, and more of use it for a bit extra control to keep me away from areas. Like throw a hyzer flip so I don't griplock it off into some woods that I may commonly throw at otherwise. And I assume a flex shot is sort of the opposite, throwing an anhyzer and letting the overstability of the disc bring it back flat and fade out. If so, I tend to not use that shot for drives, but sometimes odd corners with a midrange. Anyways since I throw hyzer flips more, but not even that often that was my vote.

a hyzer flip is when you release the disc at a hyzer angle, like this: / for RHBH, then it will "flip" over to be flat, like this: _, then fade out to the left like normal.

so all in all, it goes / - /

When I throw an understable disc into a headwind it goes from / to - to \. lol

I hyzer flip my champ eagle on calm wind or tailwinds. Otherwise I throw most stuff fairly flat (stable/overstable discs). I will throw flex shots to go around stuff, but not really for distance. I flexed my pro-line illusion the other day into a brisk headwind and it ended up going about 350'. Unfortunately, it didn't go anywhere near the basket.

Hyzer flip comes natural to me...flex shots are a struggle as I sometimes get the nose up and the disc goes 100ft to the left...or I pull it over so hard, I bury it 3ft in the ground.

Most of my discs are understable so I can get the hyzer flip. I use it because they get much more distance than the same discs thrown flat and can be thrown to where the disc flies straight for most of the flight path. Flex shots need a lot of room to work and that isn't an option in the woods that I play in most of the time.

Good point, hyzer flips generally don't need as much room. I will throw either depending on tree density.

No sir!!!!! You want to see the best example I know of, of the Hyzer Flip.

I believe it's Eric McCabe.

Shoot up to about 1:35. You'll see Nikkos "Zip-line" shot, then....THE BEST HYZER FLIP vid that I've found.

(great vid all around)

Didn't know how to put the vid up on here so you don't have to go to youtube to view it. Someone help?

If you want to see hyzerflip you should have seen my buddy with his taco'd valk. He also had a really good arm so he could throw that thing far on a really hard hyzer angle...he throws discus, so he has guns.

If by taco'd you mean warped...then that makes the flip less impressive. The disc is super flippy as it as when taco'd.

Taco'd = OA...F? (Off Axis Flight?.... OAT - Torque being thrower controlled)

It's the warped-ness of the disc flippy your buddy's shot over.

Honestly that video wasn't too impressive though, given the right disc and you can easily hyzerflip like crazy, especially with the right wind conditions.

My preference is 175 Wraiths and 175 Valks at the momtent and a 171 Champ Destroyer (also used for my rare attempt at a flex shot)

Generally I will flip to make a later right turn or flex to make a later fade, but in all out distance, I like to flip usually.

Pretty cool. Nikko's shot was super straight. Then the next shot had me wondering. It seemed like it was just going to flip over flat... but eventually it kept turning, and turning some more to the right. It looked almost like it ran out of altitude before it ever really got to come back.

I love watching dg videos. Thanks for posting the link.
