What is your policy on mulligans?

I personally hate mulligans, the only time I throw one myself is if I have a terrible shot on the first throw of the day.

Sometimes I'll throw just for fun shots off the tee, trying different discs or routes. But I also play my original lie,

Imo, people who take mulligans don't want to get better, just score better.

2 off the top every course, no matter what time of year. after that, if you want a mulligan, you have to give a beer/dollar to everyone else on the card.

My buddy Tallpaul taught me a fun way to play...in the morning before tee off he says "okay, everybody gets one hole today where they can take a PU (pick up), basically that hole wont count for you or against you. Its kinda fun and a good way to make that pesky 8 stroke hole dissapear. Use it wisely and if you dont use it you lose it!!

Two shots off of the first tee, take best shot (warmup). Then whoever has ctp on hole 9, that person gets two drives off the teepad on hole 18 to finish. We play extremly competitive casual rounds.

Don't use them - however when I play with my kids if you hit a tree close to the tee, and can run and get your disc and get back to the tee box before they count down from 10, you get to re-tee with no penalty.

Keep it fun for the kids so they always want to play. Took my daughter out when it was 17 degrees last winter, and now that it has been cold, she has been begging me to take her! Anything to keep it fun!

the peebody rule:

if you miss your putt, and can re-putt within 1 second (with another disc/mini) and make the re-putt. the putt counts.

*these only count on peebody's personal rounds*

Practice Throw: During a round, the projection of a disc of a distance greater than two meters, or of any distance toward a target, intentional or not, which does not change the player's lie, either because it did not occur from the teeing area or the lie, or because the player had already thrown competitively from the teeing area or the lie. Throws that are re-thrown in accordance with the rules are not practice throws. Provisional throws made pursuant to 803.01 C and 803.01 D (3) are not practice throws. A player shall receive a penalty for a practice throw in accordance with sections 803.01 B or Competition Manual 1.5 B (1).

I almost never take a mulligan. I do however take an extra throw or two if we have the course to ourselves. But I always count and play the first disc thrown. And when playing with others I say, your score is whatever you say it is. So if you take a mulligan or two, no biggie. Now if $$$ is on the line then a mulligan rule is established. And then it would be something like 1 per 9.

My son and I always play 1st disc thrown counts towards the score. But on empty days at the course we've been known to unload a few. When we play CSU it's always empty so usually after our round we play a fantasy hole or two. Last week we unloaded our entire bags at one hole just for the hell of it. We like to pick a certain type of throw and try it with all types of discs. When we play with my dad we do allow a 2nd shot off the tee on the 1st hole if the 1st throw was horrible.

We play one per round, whether it's 9 or 18, but like most others have said, we throw multiple drives pretty often, but count the first.

Why do you guys ignore some rules when playing rec rounds and not others? Do you jump putt within 10 meters during a casual round? Probably not, so why take mulligans?

Y'all some cheaters!

You are taking practice throws and should assess a one stroke penalty for each. If you don't, you're circumventing the rules of play and should be disqualified. It is pretty simple really.

You must be a blast to hang out with.

When playing casual rounds I like to keep it casual. ;)
