Review by CraigC in course Anson B. Nixon Park

2.50 star(s) Good Simple Course The course has some nice variety of wooded & open holes. The wooded holes are a much fairer test than my home course of Lums Pond. This is a great course for beginners, as there isn't much heavy rough and the holes aren't terribly long (most seemed about 250-300 ft). Most...

    Best Holes, Period

Parma I'm surprised no one's put any holes from Parma (near Rochester) up yet: - #6 - The hole comes out of the woods, across the field, and back into the woods, down a hill with pin to the right - #9 - A really nice par 3 down across a river with the pin set up on a small hill In the...

    Pro or Am teepads?

It Depends If the long tees increase my odds of losing a disc or raising my frustration level, then I'll play the shorts. Otherwise, I'll play the longs. I enjoy throwing...but hate hitting trees 50 feet from the tee or losing a disc in heavy rough/water.

Review by CraigC in course Bellevue State Park - Old Layout

2.00 star(s) Bad Rough :-( Short and fairly simple course. Though it's in a public park, the disc golf course doesn't rerally interfere with the other patrons. The rough can get out of hand and it's very easy to lose discs with the narrow fairways. Came home with 2 ticks on me once, so use OFF before playing.

5.00 star(s) Fun Course Course is wide open with few trees. Beautiful scenery in the surrounding countryside. A bit hilly, so it gives you a good workout! Bathrooms are far away.

3.00 star(s) Ehhh The front 9 has a wide variety of short-medium length holes. A creek brings course management into play for 3-4 holes on the front. Hole signage is very nice. It's not part of a public park, so there isn't any non-DGers to get in your way. The back 9 is terrible. Basically it's "see...

Review by CraigC in course Lums Pond State Park

3.50 star(s) TREES The surrounding park is very nice. Course is labeled well and is flat, which makes it easy to walk. Some holes require good course management skills. A good variety of holes. Many trees. Some holes are very difficult to get a good tee shot off (#6 & 12 come to mind). Can get very...

    Score Tracking

Great addition! Just a question, when we enter the par for each hole, does it mess with other people's pars? I'm a beginner and usually play par 4s instead of par 3s. When I enter that in the system, will other people be able to put in their own par 3s?

Review by CraigC in course Scarboro Hills

4.00 star(s) Birdie/Ace Festival! Nice mix of open & woods holes. Good signage. Rubber tee pads on all holes, alt tees on most holes. Nice looking course overall. Some fairways are close together. The driveway leading up to the course is horrible on your car...gravelly & bouncy. There were many holes...

Review by CraigC in course Riverview DGC

3.50 star(s) Nice Open Beginner/Fun Course New Baskets. Inside a nice park without too many picnicers in the way. Great for beginners, as holes are short & wide open. 2 sets of tees, with plenty of options to make your own 3rd set. Tees are flush to the ground, making them difficult to find. No signage...

If you copy/pasted all of JRs posts on this topic into Word, how many pages do you think it would take up? Are we in "novel" territory yet?

    Powerball gyroscope

I get carpal tunnel in my palms, not my fingers or wrist (ie: I'm not quite 30 yet, but I can imagine having a hard time gripping a pencil in 20 years at the rate I'm going). Whenever I squeeze a stressball, or do those strength trainers for my hands, my palms hurt even more. Do you think a...
