Review by thrownow in course Mt. Waterman DGC

3.50 star(s) Lovely up on the Mountain! Adventure course only 45 minutes from La Canada. $10 Ski Lift ride to the mountain top lodge with food and drinks....and the super fun disc golf course. Length and variety over mountain terrain. A good workout at ~8000'. Only open weekends. The new tee areas could...

NEW - Mt. Waterman Disc Golf Course is open on weekends

I spoke with the folks at Mt. Waterman and can confirm that they will indeed be open weekends for the next few months (until...snow appears?). The course (at just under 8000') is really fun and the ski lift ride to get up there is fun and the beer served at the Lodge is fun.........and cold...

Review by thrownow in course Buckhorn Ski Club

1.50 star(s) Good course next door now In the mountains - Rich is a nice guy and that small club is pretty cool if you are a skier. Object course with tough tees over tough terrain. This ravine bottom course does not compare favorably with the new course up on top of the mountain at Waterman - right next door.

Seattle to Socal 6 days, where do I play

Hey Lion, Just a few notes below. I have put two * by the courses that you should NOT bail off of if you have to alter your schedule. And also marked those that I have not played yet (must go visit my in-laws in OR again soon - obviously!). Car camping at the Yurt at Whistler's is a good...

Tell me if I am doing the right thing in developing disc golf in my town

That is funny because Billings is an instructional story for disc golf. What happened (if I recall my talk with a MT player accurately) is that some player were rude as they played through a wedding at the park. Some disc golfers feel that someone should not be allowed to have a function in...

    9-Hole? Hole cost, etc.

Course Development Jtreadwell is right - the argument that public servants should make good use of private donations in developing recreational opportunities for their citizens is one that should have traction in these times of declining Park and Rec budgets. Super that he found a private...

    Portland, OR Road Trip 9/10-9/17

Bryant - the park in Albany down near the river? Might have improved since I played it last year (difficult to navigate newer holes - flattish park kind of felt a bit like a bowl). Hey - the disc golf clubs around there are great and they have two super courses there north and south of...

    Portland, OR Road Trip 9/10-9/17

too late with two cents :) Sorry to chime in late but here goes..... First - you are going to have the best time EVER I predict. I am a fan of staying where it is working for me so I guess I would vote for less courses and more rounds at the great ones. I only know the Roseburg and north...

Review by thrownow in course Whistler's Bend - Old Layout

5.00 star(s) Bend in the River - Disc Golf Adventure! A beautiful piece of land at this bend in the Umpqua River. Rent a Yurt or camp by the river and play a great course. Then jump in the river and float down to the campground. The course has good variety; open holes - some with good length, a nice wooded...
