Need 3 states to hit all 50. North Dakota is on the list. Trying to plan a trip this summer.
Seems the best bet is flying to Minneapolis (from NC) nonstop on a Friday. Then driving round-trip Saturday to Fargo and playing one of their courses. 3.5 hours each way, yuck. Then playing all day in...
What ever happened with the Will Rogers course? I saw that the petition still lacks about 1,000 signatures. I bet that many people are on dgcr right now.
Will Rogers is a fun course. Only place I've ever pegged a hobo with a disc. I hope you guys can save it.
Qikly -
If you just have one day, you might want to factor proximity and traffic into your equation.
Once you decide on courses you might also re-post your course selections and invite backroad/shortcut comments.
Enjoy.
I may finally get to road trip from Lincoln/Omaha, NE to Fargo, ND late June. The journey we all dream of.
Of course I've researched the courses along that route and their respective ratings. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with those courses, and if you have any...
1978 - Buzzkill. Sawmills was awesome. The fact that it's built on pine just means that - like the mountain courses - folks should play it while they can.
The drop-offs are pretty terrifying, you're right about that. There's the tee pad, a ten foot drop, and then you'd roll down a mountain. I...
Good to know. They certainly didn't tell me it was closed for the season. They said "ya got five bucks? Okay it's open."
Actually there was an attendant who seemed only there to check in disc golfers. Which was shocking because it's middle of nowhere and no one else was there. Crazy that I get...
I played it yesterday too. I actually just PM'd reposado, agreeing with his post. Tons of overgrowth and stinging nettles. The signs mostly just pissed you off. They reminded me of this old Chevy Chase movie Funny Farm where a local gives directions that make no sense to the guy who actually...
So many people arguing about which courses should rank higher. It's like trying to rank Pink Floyd vs. Elvis vs. Beethoven. The site is great for telling you which courses are awesome, why they're awesome, and what you need to beware of. Arguing whether apples should rank .05 higher than oranges...
I'll agree about putting a shop on the north side of town. Maybe I-77 exit 16, which you can take for Hornets and Nevin. Kind of a dicey part of town though. Maybe exit 30, Davidson, college town near Brackets, Bradford, Robbins (which is a great place to lose a disc), Stumpy, Bridges. There are...
Pat, you nailed the Cornelius Road Park review.
I'm interested to read your take on the mid atlantic courses.
I'm always interested to hear Charlotte folks' views of other areas' courses.
There's a thread about - how far would you drive to play a course. According to google maps, Tyler and Maple Hill are approx. 4:20 away from each other. Probably oughta have a home-and-away, the locals from each course, winners' course gets to stay in the top ten.
