[Axiom] Axiom Discs (Official Thread)

Spoken by a true fanboy. This is the opposite of separation from the other companies. Innova, Discraft, and Latitude have been there done that. I am no expert, but I am pretty sure this is correct.

Just because I have their discs in my sig doesn't make me a fanboy. You haven't seen many of my posts, clearly.

I like what MVP does, but I've never hesitated to be critical of them, as well. I think this is something new that, while different, is something that shows there is a lot more business sense behind what they do.

If showing respect for that makes me a fanboy, then so be it.

I think they're trying to say that they can't Gyro the colors as much so rather than tarnish the extreme end of MVP, they branched off with toys?

um.. no. Innova makes the quest AT style OM's your referring to as toys.

Axiom Discs feature vibrant colors of the GYRO™ Overmold Technology from MVP Disc Sports. Our discs are produced with high precision molding equipment that allow us to overmold a continuous, seamless golf disc.

The two-tone effects in Axiom discs complement each other in ways that are not possible in conventional golf discs. In addition, the brighter colored rims will be able to enhance the visual effects of the central core, whether it be the Optic™ Effect in the Proton™ Series or the Neon™ Effect in the Neutron™ Series.

The redistribution of weight is a valuable commodity of GYRO™ Overmold Technology. Weight is distributed to the outermost edge of the disc, thereby increasing the moment of inertia to the greatest extent possible. This increases angular momentum so that the disc better maintains its orientation of flight.

There are many advantages of flight with the extended GYRO™ Push. The GYRO™ Push allows for a more controlled turnover phase in understable discs, as well as a more consistent, controlled fade in overstable discs. All of our discs feature the signature GYRO™ induced forward penetrating fade. The increased GYRO™ Push allows our discs to maintain their intended flight for a longer period of their lifetime. These all combined will allow Axiom throwers to achieve greater predictability and accuracy on the course.

Since Axiom discs feature GYRO™ Overmold Technology, they will exude the high standards of quality, performance, and consistency synonymous with the MVP Disc Sports lineup, but with a touch of style

This. It's called marketing and branding. Some people will stick with MVP, others will go Axiom, and some both. Either way, it is something that shows they are more than a couple kids dinking around at their dad's factory.

I think it would have gone over better if MVP didn't advertise so hard for them. All the teases and then this. LAME.

man

first, most of us don't have the necessary skill needed to throw mvp discs

now, they are operating on a whole 'nother level that few can understand

it's sheeple!

I know right. I personally am glad I am not skilled enough to benefit from their discs. I have been 100% turned off from mvp by the outspoken few that talk down to folks for not wanting to drink the kool aid. Truth is I am plenty skilled enough to throw any disc correctly. I bagged some mvp for the summer. Shock is just a qannabe firebird. Anode is a wannabe magic, ion a wannabe wizard. Yet I dont say mvp fans are not skilled enough to throw the molds I like. So fanbois keep it up. Drive those customers away.

A big reason the auto industry struggles and many brands have died.

Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Mercury...

Wow. You can quote the brochure!

But here you are in these threads anyway, getting all fired up.

Trust me, there are plenty of loud MVP fans on here. It happens with every company. You're just letting your buttons be pressed more by them than anyone else for some reason.

It's like how I am with the Trilogy Facebook page, I guess. But sometimes it is easier to just sit back and let fans enjoy rather than having to come piss on the parade to make yourself feel better, ya know?

This will spawn Trilogy vs. Duelogy disc golf gang wars all over the country. Hide yo daughters! Hide yo wife!

Wow. You can quote the brochure!

No I just quoted the information listed on the company website. Doesn't say anything about no gyro or being toys due to inferior quality.

Maybe speculation and BS would suit better as that's what your post was.

Imagine what would've happened if they'd put all their eggs into one basket...

Branding isn't why the auto industry is struggling. Substandard quality vehicles and a lack of ability to anticipate the changing market is.

MVP Disc Sports Begins a New Era
January 10, 2014

MVP Disc Sports has come a long way since the debut of our famed blue and red First Run Ion.

Today, we're pleased to bring something back from the beginning.

Introducing Axiom Discs, by MVP Disc Sports.

MVP's signature GYRO™ rim was engineered for performance — the dense overmolded rim and seamless aerodynamics serve to maximize the potential of a flying disc. Add basic golf disc science to high-tech molding, and it looks like GYRO™.

Science gave us the look of GYRO™. But the funny thing about science — sometimes it looks sexy.

Axiom Discs brings a new focus on style, with vibrant color combinations of GYRO™ rims on Neutron and Proton, new stamp series and foils, and a unique set of disc models to complement the MVP lineup. Axiom gives players more options for GYRO™-enhanced discs, whether for colors, flight profile, or feel.

Two new models will kick off Axiom Discs for 2014 – the Neutron Envy Putt & Approach, and the Neutron Alias Midrange. Proton releases of both models will follow soon.

The Envy is a stable-to-overstable putter with a beefed-up wing and slightly lower cruising speed and profile than the Ion/Anode class, making it high-speed stable with a dependable drop.

The Alias is best described as a stable Tangent. With a straight-stable high-speed portion and a little bite at the end, the Alias is a great placement midrange for hyzer, straight, and anhyzer lines.

Axiom Discs will be produced and distributed by the team at MVP Disc Sports, and MVP's signature GYRO™ rims will remain classic black and Eclipse™ Glow white.

The aesthetics of our GYRO™ rim coupled with premium central cores have always had an appeal to throwers, disc dyers, and custom shops. The creative community in disc golf has embraced the look of GYRO™, and we look forward to seeing these throwers and artists bring Axiom's colors to life!

2014 has many developments and releases in store for both MVP and Axiom Discs. We sincerely thank our fans and distributors for all their past and future support — we are fellow disc golfers seeking to elevate the game we love, and it's an honor to feel that love come back from the community.

Best Regards,

The Team at Axiom Discs & MVP Disc Sports
