First Glow Tournament

I am assisting with our first glow tourney and have been assigned the task of purchasing glow sticks for the baskets. Having never thrown a glow round I'm a little out of my league. We're running an unsanctioned fund raiser at a rec course and looking to keep costs down.

Suggestions please?

Hit the dollar store. They might have packs of multiples even. Or maybe the surplus store. If you put enough glow sticks, or rings, or whatever you can get on there it will be visible.

Stores like northern tool and harbor freight often have cheap led lights that work well. Umbrella lights work great but your costs starts to go way up.

Start a donation box for batteries if you make it a weekly event.

Tell players not to bring regular flashlights. They keep your eyes from adjusting to the dark. UV flashlights work better for charging glow discs, and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness.

^Yup. Plus they can help you locate the discs better if the charge wears out.

OP... this time of year, you should be able to find cheap glow sticks/rings lots of places. Look at Halloween displays at box stores/dollar stores. Or if you have a seasonal Halloween specific store that opens up in your area...

Get the small 2 inch glow sticks and some clear duct tape for those without glow discs. 1 of those taped to the middle underside of a disc can be seen great on any champ type plastic.

Glow tape works wonderful for any opaque plastic but will require UV light to charge. (stay away from white light ruins your night vision)

To secure lights to baskets, teemarkers, mando trees, stairs/bridges if you have any on the course...etc
