In case you didn't open my "spoiler" here it is, copied and pasted, with bold emphasis added. And I quote:
"Note that I'm not saying that Paige has peaked. I was just making an observation. "
I guess I should have put the smiley in my normal text and not used a spoiler at all. This is apparently what I get for trying to have a little fun.
Hyzflip10, I will try to answer your questions without being flippant or curt.
Who really cares? The op posted the thread and it's around 280 replies or so at this point. So it seems that several people might care. And this is a common sports conversation... discussing the greatness of professional athletes before, during, and after their primes. So my guess is that a lot of fans of Paige, and other disc golf fans, are interested and care about this topic.
When was that last time you won? Well, this really doesn't seem to have anything at all to do with the thread. But if you really do "care"... See what I did there?
I won a C tier, my first tourney ever, in the Rec Division in 2011 and an Ace Race in 2011 or 2012? I won a very small league I played in a couple years ago (2016?). So it's been a while. And Yes, Jimb has peaked. I'm 51, working through an injury, and don't anticipate my game ever being what it was just 2-3 years ago.
I don't think that Paige has peaked, OR reached the top of her game yet. If I were a betting man, I would say the best is yet to come for her. It may be harder for her to accumulate as high a win percentage as she has in the past, but I believe that this is a testimony to the level of competition getting better, and not to the quality of her game. It's been said before, but if Paige can resolve what appear to be some mental lapses and/or poor course management decisions, I don't believe that we've seen her best yet, and I hope not. It sure is fun to watch Paige, and the rest of the women's field, play at a high level like they can and do. :hfive:
