[Question] ID a disc or ask "What is the story on this disc...?" - Take II

Pro Beast with -3 turn

I am wondering how common these are. I heard it's not a misprint, and I recently lost the one I have. I loved that disc but am having a terrible time trying to find a replacement.

Does any one have one or know where to find one?

Pro Beast with -3 turn

I picked up a Pro Beast from Walmart and saw it had -3 for turn. It flew like it was beat in right away. I loved that disc and recently lost it and cannot find another with -3 turn.

Are these rare? Where can I pick up another one?

Thanks!

The Beast has two molds. The current production mold is the original mold. When the Orc was released, the Beast was retooled into the -3 turn version you just lost. Apparently that mold wore out/was retired, and when it was recut, they cut the original, more overstable mold instead of the flippier one.

If you'd like to find more like you have, you want to ask for the Beast-L (current and original mold is the Beast-X today).

They made Pro Beasts for a long time. Off the top of my head I think if it's PFN and not "Pro Line" it should be a Beast L, and there should be 10/5/-3/2 Pro Beasts around. They made them from 2005ish until 2015ish. They should be around.

Every Zephyr I've ever seen in my life says Pat. Pend. on the back.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure it isn't a collectible. I kind of thought this was a newer disc since the plastic feels like the newer DX plastic.

Do you know if the ones with the superclass stamp also say Pat. Pend.?

Does it have any penmarks in the center of the disc? If not post a side view pic of the disc and we will try to help you out. Pics are worth 1000 words.

Identify old disc

Hello everybody,

new to this forum. Can you help me to identify this disc? I can´t tell what it is. Fast driver, rim: 2,3 or 2,35mm. Marked "*D". Got this via mystery pile so I can´t believe this to be FR Destroyer. What else could this be?

Any idea what disc this could be?

Thank you already.

Welcome to the forums, btw. Was this a Mystery Box from the factory? They slip some really good ones in those every now and then.

Thank you all for quick answer. Spotted headline of that other thread but "story of this disc" didn´t open in my mind as thiskind threat. Now I know.

And regarding disc itself. It is hard to believe to receive this kind diamond. It was not from factory, it was from local discgolfer. I´m amazed.

Proto * Destroyer

Very valuable disc right there. I figure easily $100+. Those are great to throw, but for what its worth you're probably better off hanging onto it as a keepsake.
