Is base plastic necessary?

(edit time expired! I'd prefer that the equipment I use look like somewhat serious sports equipment, not chewed up dog frisbees.

I actually don't like premium plastic for my main mids and putters.

While I do carry an ESP zone, its my utility disc.

I recall playing a pick up round with some young guys, whose bags were all premium plastic, and they lightheartedly joked about my beat up mids and putters. You know the line "dx is crap, worthless, etc."

So I threw the whole round with my rocs and wizards. Afterwards they had a change of heart.

But honestly if you want to have a bag full of fancy plastic, more power to you. That's why the manufacturers make it.
