The inevitable 2020 Pros switching sponsor/DD hate thread

Some rivalry can be fun . . i just think it´s more fun to have as an example Paul with Discraft and Ricky with Innova.
Would not be the same if they both played for Innova

Ok I can see the rivalry aspect. So, ideally you'd like it if every player were with a different sponsor?

What I don't quite understand is the interest in a specific player playing for a specific sponsor.

Why wouldn't you want to see Adam Hammes move to Innova for example? Is this because a manufacturers discs suit a certain style? Good for big D players, good for forehand dominant players, good for bad putters, good for your Lyme Disease?

Hammes is known as a hothead, so someone who enjoys throwing Innova discs and don't like his demeanor, probably don't want to see him throwing the same discs they do. I do actually have a friend who collects putters that he bends in anger and tosses away.

Conversely, universally liked players like Garrett Gurthie, players enjoy watching him bomb the same discs they throw.

He answered on instagram he throws: Bosses, PD2, destroyers, MD3, Firebird and i cannot remember what else. but if you go creep his usdgc ( i believe) posts on instagram he lists his bag in the comments.

I think DiscMania has enough molds for him to go all in. I've got a Glow C-Line FD3 that's flat & more OS than some of my Champion Firebirds. I think he could play with confidence.

Not sure we'll see much notable movement, at least compared to last year. I would not be surprised to see more of the Europeans being signed the big manufacturers.

My bet on Nikko is that he is working on a paid, mixed-bag deal. He could (theoretically) get "minor" mixed bag sponsorships from a handful of companies and make a pretty decent living.

I think the McBeth signing was a one-time splash in the pan deal. Future stars will have some sort of mixed bag deal with multiple sponsors. It may take 5-10 more years to get to that model, but I think that is the way our sport is headed.

I like Dickerson with Prodigy. He's become one of my favorites to watch. I could see Clemons switching since he doesn't fit the trilogy mold. But, I could also see trilogy throwing money at him to stay.

Nikko just released a new hemp blend wizard through Gateway iirc. Don't see him leaving gateway unless there's a considerable offer on the table.

is it the most environmentally friendly disc offered

Infinite, he goes to Infinite as the full time top level Touring Pro who is not sponsored like the way some of the others are by Innova or other single disc brands.

she re-signed for 3 years until 2021. and i doubt she's going anywhere even after that, unless Golden Tuna's prediction comes true.

i think mixed bag deals would be really fun and interesting but why do you think it's headed that way? there doesn't seem to be any evidence for it. besides Nikko, nobody else of note is throwing a mixed bag and it seems it would take immense star power to secure that kind of deal.

Uh how about Dave F? He is with Infinite and they allow a mixed bag for the players. It would be nice to see Infinite get a sponsored full time touring team togther. The only stipulation I could see that Infinite touring players have to use one of the Disc that Infinite has made for them.

Plus there is the player-specific mold aspect of it. Like if GG left Innova would his new sponsor create a Sonic for him.

Well I know for a fact that Latitude 64 has a dog disc brand under another name that some player in Sweden or Finland uses the fastback style of dog disc as a replacement for a Wham-O Fastback, the guy used that mold the way GG Uses a Sonic.
