[Question] The Inevitable "Your 2017 Bag" Thread

2x fossil scale (circle)
x line p1x (jump putts, us approach)
envy (soft n) (driving putter)
2x zone (esp, zflx) (os approach)
2x comet (x, z) (comet things)
2x buzzz (big z, cryztal) (workhorse mid)
k1 kaxe (tweener)
4x teebird (dx, 2 star, brinster) (workhorse driver)
3x firebird (star, champ, luster) (os utility, skips)
2x tern (star, champ) (bombs)

Been thinking of narrowing it down for a c15, would probably ditch one each of the teebird(star), firebird(star), zone (esp), comet (z), and buzzz (cryz), and could probably play just as easily

2x Jawbreaker Challengers - Putting
2x Suspect (Lucid & Classic) - Approach
ESP Meteor - Turnover drives up to 300'
ESP Buzzz - Long approach/short drive
2x Leopards (Star & Champ) - finish right & accuracy drives
2x Leopard3s (Gstar & Star) - Straight drives
2x Undertakers (Z & Big Z) - Straight drives w/fade
Big Z Thrasher - Big turnovers and tailwind distance
Z Surge SS - Straight w/fade max distance
Neutron Resistor - Utility

May drop either one of the Star Leo(3)s since they are quite similar. Also, I may return to using a Champ Destroyer for utility.

With plastic acquired over the winter, it's looking something like this:

Distance Drivers:

Star TeeRex for forehands and big hyzers that the wraith might get some undesired turn on.
3x Star Wraiths of varying stability. 2 are PFN and thus cooler. Also can bomb them a little further because they have good turn.

Champ Valkyrie

Fairway Drivers:
1x 12x Champ Firebird
3x Star Teebird (one Nybo, one AJ sig, one PFN*)

2x KC Pro Roc. One pretty new, One that's flippier.

Driving Putters:
ESP Zone for overstable shots and forehands.
Neutron Ion because it's straight as all get out.

For quick reference I'm a aviar/XD, fuse/cobra, teeb/beast, xcal/DS/crank person. Bag has all types of mess but it works around those tastes.

So far this year I'm in love with the wysocki sparkle compass--MEGA STABLE. Flatttttt. None of that domey compass feel. Also loving the queen from Westside I think it is an amazing disc for what it is. I'm a VERY BH dominant player and I can literally do almost anything with this disc.

Forgot to mention the soft champ blend aviars on dgu are the best putters I've used in years. They've got this unbelievable gumminess that is absurdly forgiving and comfy.

I started this year by taking all of my discs out of my bag. All 200 or so discs that I have are now in the running for my 2017 bag.

I am trying to build my bag without bias and actually use what is best for my game. We'll see where this ends up, I hope to have it settled before my first tournament in March.

I plan to commit to whatever I pick and really learn my bag this season. In the past it has been like musical chairs.

It's that time of year again, namely the beginning of a new one. So what are you going to be bagging in 2017? And feel free to discuss changes from your 2016 bag...

I just reinked the rims of 9 discs I've had in the bag for b/t 1.5-2.5 years. Eleven others I estimate are past the 1 year mark. I guess I mainly go through Wraiths due to wear or water hazard loss. All 3 I bag are under 6 months old. Same-O, same-O for me in 2017. Might kick in a new pro Pig to replace the one I've got, not OS enough and I find myself going 1-2 rounds without throwing it.

Terrible discs that dont work. What the hell is wrong with you?

Ahhhh, the sarcasm is strong with this one ;)

If i didn't know that you're all over gyro like white on rice I would be a little defensive.

I just picked up an Inertia. Threw it on BRP #14, (hole before the shack) that long shot over the field then back up to the right in the woods....parked it, first drive with it. Gyro is real, haha:popcorn::thmbup:

Putters:
Gauntlet (push putts from about 20 ft. and in)
Pure (approaches and spin putts from about 20 ft. and out)
I'm looking to try a Polecat soon.

Mids:
Warrant
Truth
Late last fall the Warrant replaced a seasoned Buzzz, which I like but was still too similar to the Truth, which I like more. The Warrant's been a solid addition as an understable complement to the Truth.

Drivers:
Inspire
F5 (a pretty stable one)
Banshee (beat DX, flies straight with plenty of fade left, also used as my overstable mid)
Valkyrie (seasoned, flippy)
Volt
Striker
Saint
Saint Pro
Spark (flat Opto, super beefy)
Avenger SS (extremely beat roller)

I'm not sure what I'll end up doing with my drivers. It's like I have a full range (or close to it) of speed 6–7 discs and a full range of speed 8–9 discs, with obvious overlap even within those categories. The Saint, Saint Pro, and Spark were Christmas gifts that I've barely thrown yet, but even before I got them I felt weird about my mix of drivers. I suspect that by summer I'll have it winnowed down to the F5, Banshee, Valk, Saint, Saint Pro, Spark, and Avenger SS, with the Volt or Striker possibly winning out over the two Saint varieties. I know the Banshee and Spark are similar on paper, but these particular examples are very different from each other.

Well just a few changes.

4 Mamba's, 3 are regular throwers, one I am breaking in. All have varying degrees of stability.
1 11X Firebird FAF, mainly for flicks
1 Sexton Firebird, less stable then the 11X
1 11X KC Teebird, very stable
2 Archers, AR16 version, replaced the Stratus's/ New to the bag
1 Emac Truth
1 Glow Coyote, flies dead straight
1 Theory little under stable
1 Old Q-mega using it as a driver on short holes. New to the Bag
1 Glow Chief, New to the bag

2x K2 Bergs for putting only
1x K2 Berg (broken in) Primary approach disc
1x K1 Berg (Newer) Primary Driving Berg
2x K3 Rekos Beat and fresh for straight to flippy driving duties
1x K1 Reko Putter driver workhorse
1x XT Polecat (doesnt come out much anymore except for mountain golf)

1x Meatball Z Comet for late finishing turnovers and is a comfort blanket
1x K2 KaxeZ beat for flippy midrage shots and very flippy driver shots
1x K1 KaxeZ STRAIGHT fairway driver
2x K3 Kaxe (breaking in) Straight to stable midrange shots
1x K1 Kaxe Stable to overstable mid and fairway shots
1x Mortar In the bag for very windy rounds

1x Z Predator Just has not left the bag, I have carried one for over a decade. Spike hyzers and overhands. Some FH
2x K1 Grym Max D and flippy distance driver. Lots of FH some rollers as well
2x K1 Grym X Workhorse drivers
1x C PD2 for when theres just too much wind for my Grym X
1x Rask for long hyzers, big skips and GIANT flex shots.

Defy, Inertia, Crave, Relay, XXX, Suspect, Theory, Proxy, Envy, is the plan. We'll see if MVP actually produces a truly Suspect/Verdict like disc, if so, that might be a trade out.

Well, I've already changed my mind. But I am pretty sure I'm settled on my selection for at least a while. Dropping the Defy as I really don't see much difference with it and my Crave, and got a Harp for Christmas and it's fitting the bill better than the Suspect did.

So this will be my core, with multiples of some. Only plan on bringing in new discs for fun on occasion, but anything serious will be these 9.

Vanish, Crave, Relay, XXX, Alias, Theory, Harp, Proxy, Envy.
