    DX Moray

I work at REI, our disc selection is like that, rack not spaced well, or organized well. We get quite a few discs that kinda warp a little since so few employees know how to properly store them, did the rim seem odd or was it something else? With ours, typically some will be pretty tall and...

    tournament legal

I embedded some copper coils and an atmel chip powered by a 2032 button cell battery, as well as some magnets. The disc automatically flexes via the electromagnets to correct for sudden breezes. Is that legal?

    ACID'S DYE TUTORIAL!!!

Innova Star and Champion plastics come out very dark. We dyed a DX disc and it actually came out pretty cool, we dyed it with black, and while the black came out very dark on the Star disc, the DX disc just got a lot darker there, it's still kind of pinkish... We have an Aerobie Arrow, their...

    tournament legal

It's illegal to modify a disc for different flight characteristics once it leaves the factory, but cleaning up edges that have been chewed up by chains and trees is fine, IIRC, so it depends on how, where, and why you are sanding or smoothing. If you're modifying it to the point where anyone's...

Socks - not just something simple

I've used generic wool socks before, nowhere near the support (I have super flat feet, I notice every ounce of support I get) I mostly just wear chacos, but when I do rock shoes, it's with smartwools or cycling socks

    Fundraiser Discs

Rocs, Beasts, and Valks always grab my attention. I like supporting groups, but $25 is a bit much, unless that includes shipping AND it looks darn good. I pretty much only throw star and champion plastic. I'd try some discraft stuff, kinda want a really flexy mid-range to use instead of a Roc...

Socks - not just something simple

I'd also recommend replacing all insoles. The insoles that come with shoes cost pennies and are made from cheap foam. I use superfeet, but other insoles can help too. If you go with superfeet, you kinda have to break your feet into them by not wearing them all the time at first, they offer a...

Socks - not just something simple

I work for REI, a fairly big outdoor sports retailer. I've tried most of the socks there at some point, and my favorite by far are Smartwools, specifically their newer Ph.D line. Fantastic arch support, super wicking, keeps feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer, etc. I love them, but...

Sea Level vs 7000' disc comparison Help

Do discs have less fade too? It'd make sense, with there being less air...

    rip versus letting go

Neither, at least for me. I don't give the disc a kung-fu death grip, I hold it somewhat loosely, and let the whipping action rip the disc out of my grip.

also check out processing, which is java based and oriented towards artists instead of programmers. The language is like Basic, pretty easy to use. R and Mathmatica are oriented more towards scientific and mathmatic stuff. If you're on a mac, nodebox is another good one, based on python

    Coyote Classic art

I'm hoping to attend. It would be my first tournament. I don't have the cash to register now, so hopefully there will still be am spots in a couple weeks
