DX RocX3 are great. I have been using some halloween ones and it's good to know they will come out with a stock run.
They start out nice and overstable and beat into being completely straight for a lot longer than a DX Roc3 would in my experience. To me they are just longer life DX Roc3s and...
Pick the newest manufacturer who has the fewest runs of each mold. That will be most consistent... for a little while :)
As far as old manufacturers go, I would say Discraft has a slight edge. Never had issues with excessive flashing etc. Their stamp quality is questionable, though.
Gold standard distance driver is 12/5/-1/3 that's true to these numbers. Whatever brand or model it happens to be. This doesn't mean it's the best for everybody, but I would say that is what everything else is judged against as OP said. Fast. Good glide. Straight. Dependable fade.
For me it's the opposite :D Cannot throw it to save my life backhand. Just too shallow and can't hold on to it. Forehand feels and flies great, though.
I have a strange pair of rocs in the bag right now, both are pretty much new and both 180g. One is a board flat almost concave KC Roc that is very straight and actually likes to drift right a bit. The other is a slightly domey dx Roc3 that's quite a bit more overstable. Straight and decent fade...
I wouldn't say cd2 is easy to hyzerflip. Very nice straight flier, but not easy to flip unless you throw it over 400ft i guess. I would describe CD2 as just a mellow PD.
My recent favorite is a max weight Champ Valkyrie. I think it has the perfect amount of understability while still being very controllable. And I feel like it's not going to be useless once it beats in. I bought it as a backup for my oldest s-line PD, but I actually like it more now. I wish I...
My 175g J Allen color glow teebird is pretty flat, which I like a lot. It basically feels and flies like a good stable teebird3. Wouldn't call mine stupid overstable tho - that award goes to my KJ Nybo teebird which is basically a shorter firebird.
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but how can you not cycle at all? At least a little bit? You throw a disc, it changes flight, you put in a new one. Why would you get rid of a perfectly good disc that you know the flight of really well? It naturally happens...
yes Glo Z. Quite surprisingly the first bit of stability goes out pretty fast. I wish that the exact flight of a brand new glo-z buzzz would last longer. It's really only noticeable with 300+ft throws and the difference is subtle, but it's there. After that it beats in very slowly. I have played...
I'll share my experience in cycling vs many molds. I have played for about 4 years so I can't talk about ultra long disc cycles, but I have tried both approaches and landed somewhere inbetween leaning towards cycling. My favorite driver is a well seasoned S-line PD that turns over just the right...
