What division should I enter? I don't have a pdga membership, is it required to compete in the open/advanced division ?
I see a few people I know in the open and advanced division, I've beaten some of them on a good day on a course I play frequently.
Although I have never played in a tournament and just last year I could only play 2 games a week due to my forearm style... but I've been working on my backhand and its good up to 280ft now and accurate, while my forehand is about 315ft on wooded holes and 350 in an open hole.
I actually get more birdies it seems on 315 foot holes than 200 foot holes. I have never got a 2 on 400+ foot hole though.
What division should I enter?
Hey Dan,
A current PDGA membership is required to play in Open, but not required in Advanced. Rose Hill East plays really long; so long that you might be left a bit behind in the open division. Based on your distance I would say that you would be comfortable in Advanced. There will be guys in Advanced that can hit the a 400ft drive if they need to, so you will still have plenty of competition.
