I'd add the following (I love my Mahal -- best single DG expenditure I've ever made):
A few questions for the Majal:
Will the side pockets fit a softshell jacket? Absolutely. probably two. You can also roll it up and attach it to the bottom portion of the bag that holds a stool or umbrella (it's beneath the putter pocket) You can carry tons of stuff in this bag, or you can shrink it down for lightweight rounds. I've carried layers, raingear, pikles oftowels and thermoses enough for long cold rainy days.
Is there anywhere to put putters where they can be reached when the bag is on your back? if you have monkey arms and can reach the putter pocket, maybe likely not though. I've put putters in one of the side pockets and been able to rech around for them before. Not perfect, but it works.
Is there a rainfly? It looks like the bag will start collecting water inside if it's raining with the open top design. If you look at my picture you can see that the cover of the bag is rolled up and velcro'd at the top Rain cover works like a charm. Spray it every couple months with sealant and it is dry as a bone. I'm still working on sewing rare earth magnets in for easier open and shut.
Is there a place to hold a stool, umbrella, or disc gator pole? yes, beneath the putter pocket there are two straps with clips that allow you to clip the straps around a stool/umbrella and then tighten them so it doesn't move. You can also attach an open golf umbrella on the side, which provides a canopy for you and your whole bag on rainy days.
You will never regret this investment, unless you really like travelling light more than any other conveniences.
Thanks.
