P starts out a little less stable and breaks in pretty quickly, S is stable but not majorly overstable, I haven't thrown the C but I've heard it's a totally different animal more like a firebird.
good question. Like Bcr said it is based on post count. the crowns however are paid memberships. The medals are Trusted reviewers and they have a set criteria for how you earn each.
