I'd like to do a Detroit Lions logo disc with silver/grey and Honolulu blue. How would you guys go about doing this? White disc? What would blue look like on a silver GL line Lat 64?

Blue looks excellent on a silver GL! It works out Perfect! You really couldn't ask for better results...actually suprised there hasn't been more silver GL dyed in here...

Glad to hear! I'm thinking I'll use the Royal Blue and just not dye it for very long to get this color:

Sound about right?

Oh yeah and I really dig that missile and snake on the sidewinder. That could also be posted in the other dye thread :)

post how this turns out, cuz i might have to do a Dallas Star on a silver goldline. Kill me for sayin this but a raiders on silver GL would be the shiz

Yeah... that would look pretty nasty. I'm just a little worried that it will look like crap without the white accents. Unless the silver poking through makes it look sweet. Guess I won't know until I try it :)

Next step - acquire silver GL

If I don't like the results I'll just do it on a white whatever

Attempts #2, 5, and 6

I'm starting to get this dye thing I think. Next step is multicolor. Thanks to all the pros on this forum providing some very valuable instruction and inspiration!

Revy from the anime Black Lagoon, on an Opto Havoc. Initially needed something because this light green disc is ****ing grass colored...but hey...where Revy goes, Havoc ensues.

and yes, I realize that a few of her lines are broken...but my eyes hurt after fixing so many paths, that I gave up. Because they then hurt from weeding them. Because my blade was set short by just ONE RCH. JUST ONE. PAIN. IN. THE. ASS.

That is one f**king bad ass disc! Black Lagoon is a great anime lol

I put this in future dyes as it's not my own idea.. it's agent peebody's.. just giving credit where it's due.. but it turned out great on a Z Magnet (found a stack of them, the flight plate color is super clear!)

Could wax stop Rit dye?

I'm dyeing Easter eggs with the kids. You know how you use a wax crayon to make designs on the eggs where you don't want any dye? Could this work in disc dyeing? Maybe get the wax hot enough to make your design but not so hot that it hurts the plastic. Can wax even stop Rit from dyeing? Just a random thought I had.

z buzzz.
still trying to get a feel for the blade. perhaps one day i can at least pretend to be in the the same class as some of you artists here...

I've had that thought myself. Haven't gotten around to trying that one. Also want to try out some crayons as a texturing thing.
