[MVP] MVP Axis

I can't get mine to turn over at all. Not even the slightest bit.

Did you release the disc at anhyzer angle? If so then it should continue to turn right until it runs out of spin then it fades. Axis holds spin lot longer than other stable mids.

I got CTP with Axis today. :) It was a long anny line and it was about 35 feet to basket (about 290 feet away) and no one else in my league beat mine!

This isn't turning it over, this is releasing it at an anhyzer. There is a difference.

I'd agree to this. In my previous post, thinking on the wording, you do have to put a little anny on it to get it to anhyzer. Its simply a disc you point and shoot, it will fly on the line you put it on.

I have been throwing this disc exclusively on some wooded courses and feel so incredibly confident on threading any gap, its almost scary.

Agreed, it's a godsend for our NC courses. Yeah, I don't think I can turn mine over without rolling my wrist over a bit.

Is the axis a good turnover disc? If so, how easy is it to do so?

No, like others said it will hold the line you throw it on, and tends to want to go straight more than anything else. If I throw it with a tiny bit of anhyzer and a lot of snap I can make it hold a beautiful right turn, but it's not a true turnover disc the way something like a stingray or fuse is.

Here you can see me throw it on a hyzer drive, then throw a couple of right turning drives and a straight approach shot. This will help give you an idea of what I mean.

Tried the Axis out today...It is truly a point and shoot type of disc. It kinda reminds me of a seasoned buzzz with more glide and no fade

It's an understatement to say the Axis has been flying out of our inventory... they are being snagged up faster than even we have seen.

Does this mean we will see some lighter weights run sooner than we thought?

I cannot pick a particular date on when lighter weights will be available however we do plan on making lighter weights in our production runs.

You're killing me! I'm sitting here waiting for my 179g to get here but really waiting for 165-170 and it's driving me nuts!

Hopefully I can make the 179g one work well for me and it will calm me down. lol

I'm so excited to see what you guys do next. Really excited. Everything that's come out so far has been an absolute blast to throw.

If I'm throwing a seasoned Z Buzzz around 250-270ish how would the Axis compare? Most of the reviews I've seen have been from guys that have a lot more arm than I do! On a clean throw, low line, the Buzzz is dead straight with very minimal fade.

I push mids out to 300 and the Axis and flies dead straight on a flat release. It holds any anny angle it's put on and with enough height will flatten out slowly. It will not turnover on a flat release unless the thrower has poor form. It will glide better than your buzzz too. From my experience and other reviews I'm reading, the axis seems like it has a consistent flight pattern across a wide range of power levels. It thrives on spin. Without adequate spin, it will drop like a roc (pun intended).

Sounds like a faster comet.... which would be a good thing.

I've been throwing the crap out of my Axis for a couple of weeks now and it's taken some really hard tree hits. I'm noticing a touch of high speed turn, especially into a headwind. It's very manageable, and enough so that I can make it hold the slightest right turn I've ever seen from a flat and hard throw.

The difference between the Axis and discs like the Buzzz, Mako, Core is that it has a bead...You don't really feel in your grip as it's not a rounded protrusion as much as just and extension of the bottom of the disc, but part of it hits the air at a 90 degree angle. This slows the turn when the disc does turn and helps stabilize it on whatever line it's on. It makes the disc less speed sensitive as well.
