[Innova] What is a TeeDevil?

I happened to go to our local DG store a few weeks back and looked through their 15 or so star destroyers. Every single one was a Destrulcan.

I recently did a dye on an EchoStar "Destroyer" with a vulcan top. It says E* DV on the back. Although, the V looks a bit sideways and more like a 7. Maybe Innova tried to sell Destrulcans, got called for it by PDGA, and is now having to call it a new disc.
I don't know all the rulings for tech standards in PDGA, nor do I even know what all the numbers mean on the tech specs list, but I would think that if you a disc with noticeably different specifications than those approved, you need to call it something else or run the risk of getting approval revoked.
Any way you want to look at it though, I think there is a clear lack of respect for the customers on Innova's part.

I only see one confused person....and it also happens to be a discraft 'qc zealot'
Coinicidence?

not a DC zealot. i was confused but its so meaningless i wont even bother explaining why. I love Innova discs. just wish they were more consistent. i mostly throw Innova drivers and DC mids.

I'm the same way. There are several innova discs I love, but if DC made a nearly identical mold, I might very well buy it from DC because the inconsistencies are less.

People still slam DC for being inconsistent
cause "run 1 of Discraft Disc X" is different from "run 2"
but this will also apply to another company and is IMO not a fair statement about being inconsistent

and please correct me if I am wrong but and I think this is the key point DC doesn't go around PLUS molding discs without telling you or L/X molding them without identifying it or, better yet, putting semi random parts together and telling you it's the same disc you've been throwing for a while

According to the pdga's approved discs file, this will indeed be a speed 12 or 13 driver. The rim thickness is 2.4cm, the same as the groove, ape, vulcan, and wahoo. Rim thickness is usually a direct sign of the speed of the disc, as for the other technical specifications... I'm too lazy/uninterested to look for patterns.

...shucks. I was really hoping for a speed 12 archon...

From discgolfsweden:
It's time for a new driver from Innova, this time a less stable variant of the Destroyer, TeeDevil. According to Dave at Innova the TeeDevil flies similar to a slightly worn Destroyer, with a little less over stability. The flight rating is not set yet, but a guess is; Speed = 12, Glide = 5, HSS -2 and LSS 2. TeeDevil in Champion plastic is reserved for the fundraiser program for now; first run will be made for the Australian Open. The plan is that it will be released in Star plastic during October. TeeDevil was approved by the PDGA last weekend. Some figures:
Outside diameter: 21.2 cm (max weight 176.0 grams)
Inside rim diameter: 16.4 cm
Height: 1.6 cm
Rim depth: 1.2 cm
Rim thickness: 2.4 cm
Flexibility rating: 11.59 kg
Rim configuration rating: 28.50 mm

Personally, I'd like to see a new/better line of plastic from Innova rather than another disc that isn't fulfilling any unmet demands from the market.

I think that if they came out with a new line of plastic, maybe similar to Lat64's colorshift gold line, they could bring in a lot more sales than just a new driver. People would want to replace their current discs with superior material. EchoStar was a flop because it really isn't much better than Star, but I think something like Gold Line or FLX would generate a lot more revenue.
