Problems getting distance with FH throws..

Hey guys, I've been playing for about 14 years. Since I started, I've thrown SOLELY forehand. Needless to say, I've got the technique down pat.
My problem is, I've always had a problem getting all this talked-up 'monster distance'. My longest drives to date are between the 300-350 ft range, and from what I've seen on forums such as this, that isn't too impressive.
I've been using a 175g Star XCaliber as my primary driver for the past year or so, I was wondering if perhaps THAT was the problem?
I'm at a loss here guys, I just need any kind of advice I can get to increase my distance, whether it's telling me to man up and start throwing RHBH, throwing lighter weights (perhaps even a Blizzard series?), or just improving my FH form (even though I'm doubtful that's the issue).
Help me out guys, tell me what's up.
And for any advice, thank you. I appreciate it.

Can you throw valks, flashes, etc fh? How about mids and putters? Neutral mids and putters?

Also, while more people than you think can throw far, many also lie.

I haven't thrown a Valk since I was like 15 or so, to me they're too slow and too stable.
And as far as throwing midrange and putting, I do all of that BH, it's just my drives that I throw FH.
And I'm sure a lot of egos on here claim to drive 400-450+ feet, but not many explain how. And I've never heard of a FH player throwing anywhere near that range consistently.

unless you have an absolute cannon i think your disc weight and choice might be a little too overstable, while its awesome to have that disc for a good predictable hyzer, if you really want to add some extra distance i think going down in stability would help you immensly, that is, if you arent already getting a good "S" flight out of your xcaliber, which im guessing youre not just because its so overstable (no offense intented). and if you are getting an "S" flight out of it, are you rolling your wrist over to force the anhyzer? because when I tried that i didnt get as much distance as when i took a Nuke or a Boss that was flippy and released it with a lot of hyzer and let the disc do the "S" for me

Yeah man, I get a fantastic (and extremely consistent) "S" out of it without rolling my wrist at all, but even on a REALLY really top-notch throw the farthest I can get it is about 300-315 ft. My farthest throw with it was just over 350ft with a pretty nice tailwind.

Thats really interesting that you can get an S pattern out of a max weight Xcal like that and not be pushing 400' at least... is there anything else that youve noticed about yourself thats maybe different from other people that would be causing you not to increase in distance? i feel like if i could get a max weight Xcal to S out nicely i would be throwing near 500 just because of the extreme speed and super hard fade that an xcal has

I suppose I'm just not getting the power I need to get it that distance, I really wish I could post a video or something to show you guys my technique and whatnot.
It might be that I prefer to keep my shots relatively low, so maybe it's not getting the necessary lift to get it to its potential distance. I know there's only so much raw power can do when it comes to throwing discs, a lot of it plays off the wind and all the other specs like that.

yeah that could be a good bit of it because i need to get about fifteen feet of the ground when i throw a big s curving shot that goes out past 400 just to cover the distance that gravity robs, but like the other guys said, if you can consistently, and more importantly, accurately hit 350' by staying very low, thats a formula for low scores my friend

ive looked in to it and I've read that a Nuke OS and the Blizzard Ape are pretty much the prime sidearm discs on the market right now, so I bought them both last night. If this thread stays alive throughout the weekend I'll see if I can get any more distance with either of them, and I'm pretty optimistic about them both. Has anyone thrown either of these before? (preferably sidearm, rhbh throwers cant really help me at this point :p)

And yeah, when I was out at the football field last night, all of my throws landed pretty much directly in front of me (give or take maybe 15 feet or so), so I'd say my accuracy is pretty decent. I'm just trying for more distance at this point.

Do you know how to hyzer flip and flex shot FH? You mention you throw low, that might also be holding you back with max d.

If you go outside and chunk something overstable with a **** load of height and a **** load of OAT you'll break 350' instantly.

yeah man i actually own both. the nuke OS is a first run about 172 (orange) and its an overstable meat hook for me and i cant get any distance out of it whatsoever. 350 tops on a really good shot that i force to anhyzer the first phase of the flight.
the blizzard ape (150, also orange) was wayyyyy too flippy for me when i threw it FH and it turned right over and I think that if i threw it right I could almost throw a mean roller with it haha. the flippiness i think comes from the weight and i think thatll be the case for you too because youre already throwing max weight xcal.
I think youll have very different throws with both and I hope that you can make one work for you, but based on what youve said so far i think that the Nuke OS will be similar to your xcal and the ape will be way to understable for you.
now go out and throw and lets see

Im not too familiar with all the technical terms unfortunately, all i know is I release on a really sharp angle and it'll turn left for probably 150 feet or so and come back right for the extra 150-175 feet. And every time I've tried chucking something really high, I can usually get maybe 2/3rds of my regular distance. I need to find the comfortable in-between I guess.

Work on adding another phase of flight.

Release it like this °\
Itll flip to flat _
Turn a lil to the left
Then hyzer back \

And hey thanks for the feedback on both of those! Hopefully I dont have the same issues as you did with them but I'll get to toss em thursday night and ill let you guys know if there's any improvement.

This is a fairly common line of thinking but, unfortunately, it won't lead to more distance or improvement in technique. Those discs, particularly the Nuke OS, are ridiculously overstable, which really just means they have no glide and want to fade/drop out of the sky quickly.

You're at the point where you need to read up on some technique, there is a lot of it in the form of stickies and youtube videos (the hammer pound drills on DGR are the most relevant to forehand distance), and perhaps get yourself filmed for critique on what is specifically holding you back.

Learning to throw backhand is the best course of action in my opinion, but improving your forehand is also worthwhile. Having both is ideal.

My only problem is when i release it at that angle, I can never get it to fade left at all, it just heads right. The only for-sure way to get it to go left at all is releasing it like this --> °/
then letting it fade left and hook back to the right.

I've tried desperately to improve my backhand technique and the MAX distance I can get is around 250 feet, and thats pushing it severely.
