Is base plastic necessary?

I agreed with basically all of the stuff I read up until this one. Opto and GL to ME seem to perform amazingly well in the rain, hell water beads right off opto plastic in a very great way.

Also, there will always be a "base" plastic, think about it, if say, Lat 64 pulled all their other plastics (opto, zero etc) then that would technically make gold line their "base plastic"

I agreed with basically all of the stuff I read up until this. Opto and GL plastic is impossible to get dry. There is NO grip on it when it gets wet and cold, your hand literally slides over it. DX has WAY more drag on it due to the porous and chalky material. The stuff is made for wet conditions. Even pros list the DX Valk as a killer disc in the rain.

Yeah, my Opto isn't super great wet. I hate it when it rains b/c then my options become a P-PD, a Polecat, and a Summit. :\

All of the above. Plus, you can beat it to hell and it evolves into a disc unlike anything else on the shelves. If you're throwing a flippy firebird, it's gotta be DX plastic.

Damn, you must have gotten a huge load of bunk swedish stuff...considering like 3 other people have already agreed with me....I'm not hating on you, so don't get buttsore over it. GL and opto just perform well: wet, cold, hot - you name it, it's a fact of life.

But to answer the question.. I use "base plastic" for my hazard discs.. easy to find any where that sells discs pretty much and they're cheap. I know a lot of people do that. Plus like others, I only use DX Rocs.

In the rain I have found that my footing is a bigger factor than my grip. Anyway, I love base plastic some molds beat into flipastic discs that you can launch from a stand still. There is definitely a place for them.

I keep a couple Dx's around for when I play where there are deep water hazards. If I lose one its cheap to replace. I've never had any problems with grip on premium plastic in the rain, so I don't change anything in wet weather... Plus that's what towels are for.

All your base plastics are belong to us.

Love beat in DX. Battle scars rule.

I have a 154 DX Viper that I've been throwing for 20 years. Same for my hands on putters and my scorpions. Not to mention my super roller 144g stingray. Those discs are 20+ years of seasoning....other plastics don't season as well.

I prefer to use base plastic whenever possible

I like the blend of eze right now. I would like to see some stiff eze mids and drivers from lat and ws. I want grip to come back for drivers too.

I don't always use base plastics, but when I do it's necessary.
