I've been having trouble since I started playing trying to find that one work horse mid range disc. I currently carry Star Cros and a Glo Champ Gator for mids. I love my Gator, super comfortable grip and dependable flight. The Rhyno is the best all around driving and up shot putter I've ever used and love throwing it but I can't seem to find a mid that gives me the same dependable flight of my Rhyno but doesn't have all the fade of my Gator. The Cro has been a new addition to the bag but still doesn't scream I've got this shot when I pull it out of the bag, whereas with my Gator and Rhyno I know I'm going to hit my line. I've been thinking about a trying a Spider out or maybe even beating in a DX Gator but wanted to hear if you all had any other suggestions. I want something that can shape and hold lines but also take some power without getting all squirrely and has a good amount of flight integrity so I can cycle it.

I primarily throw RHBH but I do throw RHFH as well. On a good pull with enough ceiling I can get my Cro's out to about 275-300 and throw my Rhyno's 250 easily. I'm not a fan of the 4 speed class of mids, the grip just has never felt right and the bead on the Gator is about all I can stand bead wise. I throw all Innova now, with the exception of my Ion which is putting only, and would like to stick with them but I'm running out of options in their mid line up.

Suggest away!!!!!

It sounds to me that you have to throw a handfull of speed 4's & 5's until you are as comfortable with them as you are with your Ryhno and fairways/drivers.

That was a real process for me. Half of my bag is putters through speed 5's now but to answer your question, for me, the ESP Wasp (OOP btw) is my longer Rhyno.

You like Innova and want a longer Rhyno? Why you no throw Rocs?

I've tried Rocs over and over again and have never felt comfortable and confident with them, the combination of a large hand, the bead and the what feels like a narrow rim to me just makes the Roc uncomfortable in my hand. I know it's border line blasphemy but every Roc I've owned always fiddled with the grip before I throw trying to find a comfortable grip which never seems to happen and always throw the shot and hope it works out, which it doesn't, ever

^^ Pretty much.

If you want another MVP disc, try the Vector.

Edit, you guys are too fast.

Yea, still give the Vector a try. It has a different feel than the Roc which you might gel with.

Blasphemy.

I'm with you on the Rocs not being comfortable to grip thing. Roc3s seem a little better, but the Buzzz is my go to mid now.

I think a disc such as discraft hornet, buzzz os, latitude pain, discmania md3 might be some good options to try and see which one you like. It's not what the Internet guys like, it's what works for you

Not innova...and I am 70% innova and 25% Discraft but man that MVP Envy. Its a slightly longer Rhyno

DD Suspect might work. It's a speed 4, but only a 3 for glide and 3 for LSF.

It's my workhorse shorter mid and I love it.

Hornet would have solved this problem long ago if it was produced in ESP and same thing for the Buzzz Oh, three one this weekend and loved it but I'm not a fan of the Z plastic

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Pro Rhyno fan (have maybe 30 or so) and my longer Rhyno is a Neutron Envy, which also kicked long-time driving putter Wizards out of my bag. Moreover, the Envy has really become an almost tweener mid for me, too. Dang fine disc.

How much longer?

Pig?

Also would try a Shark if you want moderate fade and don't like the rocs bead.

Otherwise maybe a Harp or a Suspect?

the z hornet is in a weird z/esp blend mix for some reason. so its not actual
"z" plastic.

you might want to invest

I carry 3 Rhynos (one flippy, one neutral, one beefy), Z Comet, Z Wasp and a Z Drone. Both Drones I own are a very gummy blend of Z, one of the Wasps is stiff taffy Z and one is the same gummy Z as the Drones. The Comet is super stiff glassy Z. There are definitely different runs of Z just like Champ, you should be able to find something you like.

If you are set on Innova a DX Gator might work but I don't know if it will get the separation you are looking for distance wise. I can throw my Rhynos just as far as a Gator.

What I really want is something similar in the hand to the gator and the rhyno that has the same high speed stability as they do without all the fade. I've got a pretty good arm and snap and want something I can tug on confidentiality and no it want turn over or fade too hard left.

My seasoned rhyno is dead straight for about 250 with the just a slight fade. I want that shot but longer, the Gator will fly pseudo straight, when thrown nose down with a good bit of anhy but it's fading by about 200-225. The Cro actually covers the shot but isn't always as comfortable in my hand as the Gator and Rhyno

All Innova
Shark 3 if you want a little dump at the end.
Lycan if you want just a little
Mako 3 if you want it to go where you throw it.

If you want to stretch out and try other brands, there are too many to list. Try out inbounds and see what might fit your needs.
