[Innova] vroc approved

I just wish Streets would stop his avatar switching. Go back to Spidey and leave him be. :p

for those who missed out on perfect crystals

Flawless crystal bids start at about 150 right now. Or get the number one for only 350 dollars. Four days left, how expensive will they get?

Of the seven photos of the discs on ebay, not a one profile. But I assume the profile is similar to that of a roc.

Uh, anyone see that Discmania is selling some of these on eBay? #1 is currently at $340+ http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Europe...1224&clkid=3508579430798494827&_qi=RTM1963929

All of them are well over $100, crazy.

This will bring a lot of money toward the tournament since it isn't a "flipper" making all the money.
:wall:

Innova/Discmania should stick to making discs. There is more money to be made and more customers to make happy vs this retail BS game they play to make some extra cash. Its truly a joke and people continue to take the bait'

Why not give retailers a chance to make $ and support the tournament, companies etc?

They should've just auctioned off all of these on eBay. A lot more money and a lot less complaining. The numbering on the rare 10 looks like crap was expecting a sticker/COA combo.. Nope just sharpie with bad handwriting.

One thing to keep in mind, as we "grow the sport" aspects that we don't like about the sport are going to grow as well. Limited releases selling out in minutes and site crashes are going to happen much more frequently.

I don't have a problem with discmania selling the clear ones on ebay. At least the money stays with them, as an event fundraiser they're certainly getting the job done.

way to grow the sport  that kind of stuff doesn't have to happen if you distribute the product properly and have retail partners set up for success across the board.

If you had a retail company which only sold innova and discmania wouldn't you feel a little salty always being stuck with the "stock" **** no one cares about and molds up wonky?

the only two runs that were wonky (to my knowlege) 2nd run cPD and 2nd run cFD, and it was on innova's end that it happened...every single disc golf company has variation in molding.

meh

kind of thin.

why are people up in arms about a successful and common business tactic?
up the demand of your product while controlling/limiting the supply...

I'd say facebook auction pages/"rare"limited" disc sections in many discgolf retailer sites/etc. helped create this trend.

Because they didn't get one of these Rocs. The only people complaining about "the slow site" are the ones who lost out on getting one. They will never admit it but if they had bought one of these Rocs you would never hear from them.

A few points I would like to make.

1) This is a fundraiser first and foremost.

2) This is the next disc, wont be the last, to be unique to a tournament and was never intended to be "stock".

3) If people want to splash large amounts of cash around for these discs, that is their choice. All the proceeds benefit the most professional event put on for out sport. If you read the stats they are expecting 5,000 spectators and it is televised. Find me one other event that gains more coverage for our sport!

4) A lot of people on facebook seems to be up in arms about Innova/Discmania's miss on "supply and demand" for fundraising. They will meet this with the colored vrocs and all the Discmania molds released with a EO stamp at lower prices. The release of these low number collectors was a smart and calculated move.

Lots of people talking about stress testing and infrastructure, curious how many people actually have experience with load balancing or anything of that nature.

Testing that stuff is hard, and it isn't cheap.

There seems to be a sense of entitlement when collectors are released.

And for so few releases that actually over-load their network, the cost isn't reasonable.

Why is it the manufacturer's responsibility to keep retailers afloat? Yes, retailers move their products, but retailers also should know the risks of getting involved in a young sport in the first place. Gotta have a plan to make money other than relying on the big dogs to feed you. The big dogs are the big dogs for a reason, after all.
