Disc Golf Pro Tour

But isn't that the point? A lot of pissing and moaning about the PDGA and their rules, followed by a tacit approval of the rules by using them. At least the ADGT made up some rules. They were stupid rules, but at least they tried to prove they could do it differently.

If you're gonna say the PDGA does things badly, then you should at least have something better.

Did they complain about PDGA rules---as in, rules of play? I thought it was just scheduling procedures, and disciplinary rules and procedures. And, I guess, respect.

Day 1: breaks away from PDGA because the board is run by tyrants who lack transparency, as evidenced by a recent heavy handed suspension.

Day 2: doles out a heavy handed suspension without any investigation based solely upon a recent suspension handed out to that same player by the tyrannical organization he just split from.

No, they didn't complain about the rules of play.

(I think they may be alone in that regard.)

LOL.

Day 2 might have been based on the new tyrant's direct or indirect knowledge of the incident.

Well, that's unfair, I shouldn't call him a tyrant, I understand he was elected by the DGPT membership. Unlike those PDGA board members.

I wonder who Williams can appeal his DGPT suspension to?

I don't recall him saying anything about the rules of play, even the rules protecting players against other players, he seemed to be more concerned with the disciplinary process.

I'm pretty sure he's not the first person to take issue with a certain aspect of the PDGA rule book and/or process.

To me it seems like everyone who is looking at it from the outside wants to put either party into some kind of villain/hero role.

I would say Bradley has time to file an appeal with the triumvirate before this weekend. If so, I'd be inclined to say he can play while appealing. I think that's generally regarded as the best idea and I think even Dodge mentioned that's how his process would work during the podcast.

Good point, someone needs to corner Dodge with questions about this.

The PDGA suspension was based on a complaint having been filed, and both parties as well as other witnesses/card members interviewed, and a review and decision by an elected board. They took their time.

What's the DGPT supension based on? Did anyone file a complaint with them? Did they even talk to Dollar... or Williams? What about the other witnesses? It must have been a mad house over there the last 48 hours doing all this due diligence before you suspend someone. Oh, you got yourself a disciplinary panel eh? And Nate Doss is the player representative? Did the players get a say in who was the player representative? What's the term on this committee? What was the process?

It's entertaining to watch this train wreck... but seriously, when is this guy going slow down, take a deep breath, and start thinking before he puts another press release up on his web site?

Well yes, but the way I wrote it was a lot funner and more snarky. That said, if you think about all of disc golf as being a set of rules, rules of timing, tournament preference etc. then I'm sort of correct.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself, I filled out the forms and submitted it to Steve this morning. It was a joke! No really. Can I take it back? Steve? Are you there?

To be clear. I don't honestly think Steve gives a darn about the disciplinary process. For me this felt political through and through. Steve wanted to take a chunk out of the PDGA, right or wrong, and this was his opportunity. I'd like to wrong about that, it's pretty cynical....

I've been thinking about Paul's token protest and reversal, and something sort of bothers me. Two, exactly two traveling pros thought there was an issue worth acting on here. Cam, who has a history with the PDGA, and Paul. It really makes no sense. It isn't like you couldn't see this coming. I know, some have already said this, but it brings something to mind. Scott Stokely once said of Paul that he controlled his brand better than any other player. I find it hard to fault that, but this seems counter to that observation. It's the weirdest thing I can imagine him doing. Again, pundits aside, anyone who played at Ledgestone had to know Bradley was on the edge. M $ wasn't the first incident he had there. So why go to bat 100% for this guy. It seems like an incredibly poorly chosen battle.

^I'd guess PM knows a lot more than we do about how these things work (surprise surprise). With how careful he is about his personal brand, and the image of disc golf, there has to be some things going on.

Or, we can bump the conspiracy thread about how Jussi is being the puppet master and biding his time

Hmmmmm, doesn't sound like there is a whole lot of transparency going on with the DGPT.

I'm 40 putting their next event in protest.

I am really getting to like this guy.

I'd buy this. It's all part of his master plan to close every disc golf course and then open his own courses on ball golf courses.
