American Disc Golf Tour

A couple of questions.

1. Do you think manufacturers are really going to spend money to have a new disc "approved" by ADGT?

2. Seeing as they "took" much of their information from the PDGA for tech standards and rules, but are not giving any credit there. Does the PDGA have a claim for infringement on intellectual property?

Also, Not only do you have to pay the 300$ entry fee, but you also would have to pay the 75$ etc as a membership fee.

If you enter the tournament ($300), your $75 membership is waived for the year. Nice of them, ain't it?

American Disc Golf Tour: [via FB post] a detailed (registration) list will not be released until late December along with a more detailed schedule of events followed by a sponsor list.

No you don't. http://americandiscgolftour.com/american-open-registration/
"Any pros participating/registering in the American Open receive gratis admission into the American Disc Golf Tour for the inaugural season."

But it should be noted that if you want to play an A Tier, NT, or Major PDGA event, you are required to pay a $50 or $75 PDGA membership fee. For NTs and Majors, you are required to spend an extra $10 for the Officials Exam.

(edit: crap, didn't see the next page of replies. looks like other people already responded, but Imma just leave this here anyway)

PDGA fee applies to more than one tournament.... Also, you do get some stuff for it (even if people disagree).

Officials Exam is something that should be done. Should actually be a bit harder. The 10$ does suck I agree, but it's a small fee overall.

I'm in agreement, not a chance at all. I saw on Facebook (once I log out because I'm banned) and saw they've extended the sign up through early Jan.

were finally going to get that big gatorade sponsorship and air time on espn.

dreams are coming true boys.

its like martin luther jr said to me when we were growing up together. "dont be a baby back bitch"

dude always had heartfelt advice, and had a helluva sky anny shot too. kinda miss that angry bastard

I found this and had to share it somewhere. Seemed to fit well here.

Seeing how ADGT has announced things in the past, the Gatorade sponsorship news would probably play out like this:

"Hey we have Gatorade as a sponsor!"

"Actually it's Capri Sun."

"Well now it's Faygo."

Followed by:
Great news! Salient is introducing a new, better, scientifically based sports drink! And for the good of disc golf, a large portion of all profits [*] will go to support the ADGT! So trash the Gatorade, Capri Sun, and Faygo and get some Fire In The Belly (TM**) so you can ensure disc golf will be on ESPN!

It's up to you. #GrowTheSport.

And..in the end

"Anybody want a drink outta this garden hose while it's still turned on?"

And then it will be "We're going to have free Gatorade at all of our tournaments!"
