Good for driving not so great on the grass.

I agree, they are great for asphalt tennis courts, slick and slippery for any thing related to a DG course.

Lots of rubber and hardly any treaded/grippy area to make contact/grip the ground, I could see some a$$ busting on wet grass or dirt tees .

Tennis is played on grass at the highest level. They must have some sort of sole/tread that helps in those conditions.

Granted... sliding on the course is utilized by great players as they move across the court. So maybe a little slip-n-slide is more than acceptable.

I wear tennis style shoes all the time. No problem unless muddy. Im not a fan of huge treads for actual throwing and they feel weird on solid surfaces.

Grass tennis courts are quite different than what you would find on a course. The shoes they use are like turf soccer shoes lots of little nubs which would not last very long concrete.

I usually play bare foot, except when there it's snow on the ground, but I may pick up a pair of the trail running shoes to help support the cause

Wow. Would love to see a pic of the bottom of your feet.
