Has Will Schusterick peaked?

As an aside, I've always felt that Will would have to fix the hitch in his putt in order to make his come back. Go watch the vids. The hitch is still there, but it's different. Instead of a foot of movement, hitch, finish stroke, he pulls it in, hitches, then putts. I don't love the hitch, but it looks a lot more solid than what he was doing with a smoother overall motion.

I was thinking much the same while watching the first round coverage. That was the best I can remember Will's putt looking in a while, and not just because they went in. There is less movement before the putting stroke than before, and that seems to have contributed to his making more putts.

Great to see him put together 2 great rounds back to back. His hot rounds haven't been the issue, it's the inconsistency and the cold rounds. Here's to hoping he puts together a full tournament and finishes top 5-10.

Will is back, back again,
Will is back, with a friend,
Will is back Will is back Will is back...

Sung to the lyrics of M&M's Without Me :D

I love that he is fighting it out with Socki. That's gonna make the fan bois nutz.

There is a hitch in every backhand throw he makes now versus the old "tape" when he was the phenom. I am wondering if that hitch and the putting hitch is something he introduced to get his shoulder into a position which doesn't cause or worsen his shoulder problems. It almost seems like the hitch is an isolated movement to bring his shoulder back into neutral position before it gets stressed. IDK.

I get the sense Will realized the hitch is there to stay, so he went to work figuring out how to work with it or around it, and his now-better putting reflects him working through it to find something that works for him.

And congratulations to Will for a great tournament. Hope we see continued success from him.

Will was right there in the top 5 or so all weekend and ended up 3 strokes from the top 5 and was also the lowest rated player in the top 14. He is definitely back, now let's see for how long. This is soooo cool to watch. For me personally, in my short 5 years playing the game, I considered him Mr. Disc Golf. Now...if he would only switch spo.....nah....I won't go there. lol...

It is great to see Will contend again. That being said it doesn't feel that he is "back" so much as he has adapted to work around the shoulder issues. His form still isn't as smooth as it was and may never be again.

Still thrilled to see him find a way to be competitive again. Still waiting for him to put together a big tournament performance that doesn't include a round in the 900s.

And on the ladies side, we have Catrina Allen.

I didn't think she'd been doing all that bad. Then I looked, and this is the lowest her rating has been since 2012.
