I'd like to add a lid or lid-like disc to the bag. What do y'all suggest? Also, weight—light, heavy, or in between? I know the poll above is Innova-heavy, but I have no manufacturer preference.

For what it's worth, my currently bagged putters are a Pure and a Gauntlet, both 174. The Pure is for approaches and spin putts outside of about 20 ft., and the Gauntlet is for push putts inside of 20 ft.

Kitty. Whatever weight you like. Great for drives, approaches, and sometimes I use it for long putts.

I would have voted Polecat because that's the only one listed that I've used

I ultimately voted "other" because I use the RDG Serpent (175g ChalkPit) for those lay-ups and approaches I used to use the Polecat for - it's freaking money. It's not quite as much of a true "lid" as the Polecat (or Birdie, which I've also used in this slot) but you'll love it.

To me a lid is a lid, I don't care for the phrase or idea lid like... voted polecat. Get a polecat or rattler

Birdie!

If you want glide, Polecat.

The Aero is a fun one disc round disc, but I don't bag it; too unpredictable.

I bag a 175gr Birdie because it just stops flying and drops flat. I use it as sort of a utility type upshot disc.

Zepher, the bomb. Yup it's big, but it is an awesome disc. It's a putter, nope a driver, well on 200 foot holes. Second choice is the Condor. Now at 200g grams that thing is a beast. Nothing stops a heavy disc, not trees, rodents, rocks or the basket. They take a little practice but man are they worth the 9 bucks in DX.

Condors are fun, but I wouldn't consider them lids. More like a big, dumb, slow, beat in Roc.

Ive bagged Polecats off and on and am currently running the G Star Polecat. I liked the Champs they ran awhile back but they were a little too much on the stable side and actually had less glide than most 'Cats.

GStars are durable and glidey. Still a little stable but I like them.

^ this.

Or death putts. My mixed bag includes a 175 and a 145 Birdie. Wanting to add the Zepher soon, just because of the chatter it gets here.

There are a ton of great options on that list. What kind of shots are you looking to fill with this disc?

That's why I voted Polecat. I bought a DX max weight off Marshall Street around a year ago, and it's still going strong. I don't throw it off the tee, so I'm sure mine is lasting longer than others'. As for weight, I've always preferred close to 175, but I hear the light ones do crazy things.

Point is, a heavy DX Polecat is a safe option and it's very affordable. The awkward lid feel is probably the only downside, but I assume that won't be a problem for you.

I should've explained that in the first place. I'm thinking that a lid might be nice for low-energy precision approach shots. Glidey and neutral are what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming.

A heavier Polecat or Ratler would be a good introduction. Easy to find, small diameter and the flight is not that different from what you are used to.

Polekitty. Love them. Currently bag 3.

SonicGuy voted for... Polecat :)

Sonics would be my vote but they are so disposable, you would get max 15 rounds before it was cracked. Maybe if they come out in 150g star.

Birdie. I bag a 146 Birdie and it lets me go for it from long range with almost no risk.

R-Pro Polecat. If you want glide, 150. If you want a little more golf-favored lid flight, 175. One of the best hit and stick discs I've ever thrown. XT would work great too if you want to be fancy. I love controlling long shots with it by manipulating nose angles. Just a great touch disc all around. So fun off the tee, too (would get DX for that).

Condor: not a lid

Rattler: less HSS than the Polecat. Very deep comparatively

Sonic: would float like crazy with very little effort. I've had fun throwing these, but there's very little HSS

Zephyr: only ever thrown this in Champ, but it's very large diameter and sensitive. Very stable though. Fun to throw. I actually find the Makani (140g Zephyr) to be my preference. They seem to have more HSS than Zephyrs for me.

Bolt: larger diameter fastback than the Sonic. Similar kind of flight, but I can put more into it.
