2017 MPO Worlds - Augusta

Tee times posted:

10:50am Lead card is Wysocki -20, McCray -20, Owens -17, and Colglazier -15

10:40am Chase card is Hammes, Lizotte, McBeth, and McMahon all at -15

Might be coincidence, but based on how they're listed on the site it looks like they made the decision on the -15 folks to go with alphabetically?

Nope, hot round (and then PDGA number for the tie breaker between Cam and Adam), as is tradition.

**EDIT** Looks like 2nd round score was used first. Colglazier and Hammes both shot 58s. Lizotte, McBeth, and McMahon shot 60s. Dickerson shot a 61 so he's on the 3rd card. The 2nd tiebreaker could have been alphabetically or PDGA #. They both work out the same, lol.**

re: CCDG coverage. >>Awesome<< video, not so good audio. Ian's voice kept fluctuating in volume while Cory's was always like he was in the room with me. Hard to listen to because of the difference in audio levels. btw.....they should consider producing edited solo coverage of top players with commentary. Could be a way to get more content out from their library of productions.

I didn't think I fluctuated, I thought I was just quiet. Cory could have raised me up a bit more.

Gonna try something different tonight anyway.

We've done that before, and have plans to do it again :) We miced up Simon and Paul at GBO with that in mind :)

The biggest thing I noticed (and it's so minor it's not really a big deal) is there was a little bit of an echo on your mike a few times. Like a literal echo of what you had just said. I have no clue why, nor is it a yuge deal; just happy to see a course that's kicked my @$$ plenty of times kick the @$$ of some pros :hfive: Great vids as per the usual

Uh, you probably don't know this yet, but hottest round is first tiebreaker (better second round). So the only "ties" were Cam & Adam, then the three big-wigs. The PDGA has been consistent for years in breaking those ties by PDGA number. The alpha thing happening to work was pure conicendence.

Just watched the first round from CCDG...I don't think there is a player I enjoy watching more than Peter McBride. That kid is so smooth, seems to have a nice balance of being competitive but still enjoying himself out there. I am still hoping he gets a breakout win at some point this season. Also hoping some day I will have an inside of 225' game that looks anything like his at least 25% of the time.

Haven't watched this round yet, but your voice did fluctuate in volume on some of the BSF videos, final round in particular. Couldn't tell if you were just getting closer to the mic every now and again, or if it was something else. The voice volume is also low in general, have to crank it up to hear you guys.

Either way, great coverage and commentary! Can't wait to have the time to binge out on all the Worlds coverage.

The age old question at worlds:

How are players sorted when they are tied coming from different pools?

If I remember correctly (I'm too lazy to go back and look) CC has lead today and Jomez has Chase? I am enamored with Central Coast, but I'm more excited for that chase card lineup. Eagle, Simon, and Paul??? Mega card! :D

Am I the only one that feels like the WR Jackson seems like it has a lot of poke an hopes? Perhaps the video did not do this course justice? I have not played it, but watching some of those holes after what seemed like a perfect drive left them nothing but a lucky approach to the green? I am struggling with only two courses and only four rounds crowning a world champ? Perhaps I am in the minority here...

Agree

I think the short section (11-13) has some lame OB but that's all I find fault on. It's a Houck design feature to have the scattered trees leaving for less than ideal upshots if you don't pure gap.

Hello Brad, no, you are not alone. I can't speak for the courses but the only four rounds bothers me as well. I mentioned it a few pages ago and got a resounding "it's what the top pros want". I am totally pulling for JohnE because of this short format. Is he a great player? Yes, but is he top four? I don't think so. If he were to stay hot and win I bet we see a huge swing from 4 to 6+9 or other.
