[Drivers] 2018- What is everyone's longest disc these days?

Tried one, but only good out of the box, which makes it likely too flippy once seasoned. My Worlds, especially Tournaments, are awesome out of the box, but if I do not change how I throw them, they become unthrowable for me after six to seven months of consistent throwing. Once I realized this and started throwing with a little more touch and hyzer, I got it back under control. I picked up numerous Fuzion Defenders with the intention of beating them up, getting them to where a new World is at. That would be ideal. In the meantime, Defenders are awesome sidearm discs - something I can do for average results, but I am getting better.

Trilogy's premium plastic doesn't wear well. Their discs can suddenly become flippy without outwardly showing any signs of use or being beat.

I've had Sheriffs and Trespasses randomly stop flying properly and become uselessly understable.

I like the Defender, but even it will wear into a point of uselessness. They take longer to beat in than Worlds. Worlds are faster and longer, however.

I guess my point is, I'd never bag any Trilogy mold simply because I don't have a lot of faith in their plastic quality. Some of their molds are very good, but they beat too fast and become inconsistent without warning. Z, champion, star, and ESP all last many times longer than any plastic Trilogy makes.

May have finally found my downwind driver. Down wind has always been a struggle for me because to throw with good power, I must throw low. Well, we finally had some decent dead down wind conditions on two of our open par 4s. had my longest drives there of my life with a 150 gram DX Wraith.

I dont bag one but the Infinte Discs Pharaoh is the disc I can consistently throw the farthest. It doesn't have to be in just a tailwind. They fly farther than my Destroyers and DD3s by 20' or more.

Lightweight Pinnacle Outlaws are still my longest flyers. I've been stocking up on second runs in the 166-169 range. They're a little tough to find but not expensive yet.

They're a little more stable than the first runs and tend to have more dome. They need to be broken in to hold a turnover or fly far downwind.

Consistently throwing 380-390ish, sometimes there's a freak day where I can throw 420-430 but I haven't figured out what I'm doing differently. Sometimes it just clicks.

That's my go to for very light into the wind.

The Pharaoh is a good mold. My Pharaoh flies a lot like my Pro Shrykes, with a tad more stability. If I know I ate my Wheaties on a given day and I'd turn the Shryke over, I'll bag the Pharaoh instead of the Shryke.

On flat land, a Star Tern. Not by much over a hyzerflipped Roadrunner, though.

Pharaoh is a get mold, but I really like the Emperor better, almost all of the glide and speed and the added predictability the higher wing gives you.

Sasquatch! If I was to ever climb to the top of Mt. Thor on Baffin Island, I would throw a sasquatch off the summit (with a tobu disc tracker to find it eventually). I mean, it's only fitting that I throw a Canadian disc off of it. But yeah, I throw the sasquatch further than all of my others right now, but I do have some consistency issues with it.

I have a Pharaoh to try, probably this weekend. I'll post in that thread what I think of it. I've never thrown one.

While this is mostly true, their -X plastics are very durable. I have an Opto-X River from early 2018 that still flies like it did when it was new.

Star shryke is the furthest predictable disc I throw. I have a very flippy prodigy x4 that can beat it, but will also turnover and fly away at random so its a real crap shoot

I've updated...dont bother with r pro boss...great for a couple throws..then becomes uselessly flippy except dead downwind...blizz katana the longest..but will end up right..even hyzered....ballista pro a little shorter but straighter..I had champ shrykes but found they got flippy surprisingly..

Any blizzard or starlite disc will deliver occasional jaw dropping distance. The rest of the time you'll be fighting to keep it from flipping hard into the ground.

R pro anything is absolute garbage. I have no clue why Innova bothers with that plastic.

I haven't found any champion Shrykes to be flippy. If anything I found them to be a bit stubborn and glideless. Noticeably shorter than star or G* Shrykes.

Any blizzard or starlite non premium disc (no I don't consider bubbled/special lightweight _____ to be premium) will deliver occasional jaw dropping distance. The rest of the time you'll be fighting to keep it from flipping hard into the ground.

FTFY

Say, Pro Destroyer for example. Stupid good distance when it does what you want, stupid extra stroke(s) when it doesn't. Same thing goes for slower stuff too...if you misthrow a DX Teebird you're gonna be salty. I highly recommend base plastic in putters and mids, but unless your form is down and truly know what you're doing (or are a true noodle arm) I don't recommend base drivers.

Do note I'm a woods player, if you're fielding it all day long have a blast with DX Bosses:thmbup:

Beat my personal best today. . .with a 10-speed 156g Blizzard BEAST
My stack on Shrykes looked a little sad as the Beast flew further than the Shrykes every time

WHY do i keep buying those fast discs?!? . . .when i keep throwing 10-speed further than 11-14 ??

Once you start getting over about 375' you'll notice the faster discs going easily further than slower stuff. Anything under 375' it won't really matter what speed you throw.

All my longest shots ever (450'+) have been with speed 12-14 discs. A couple honorable mentions would be the Mamba and Mystere. Both of those are speed 11, but will fly nearly as far as faster stuff. Flippy AF, but long.

At soon 48y old i don´t see myself ever to get to the +400' club. .i´m more trying to be accurate in the 330-350' range
